Working on the newest plan suggested by the CSciO and supported by the CO, the Romulan/Terrain hybrid began looking into ways of making the idea become reality. Causing an avalanche to be triggered and cover the entire area where the cloaked ship had been expected to be might have sounded easy, but the logistics in making this happened soon proved to be more demanding than the CSciO had suggested in her ramblings. Using too little power would result in the creation of an insufficient avalanche to cover the required area while using too much power would result in the entire mountainside to be blown into subatomic particles. Since Lt. Seth had been busy with the tactical planning of the assault on the Hirogen ship, the duty of figuring out the way to create the avalanche had fallen onto the COO.

Using her experience as the former Sec/Tac officer, the Romulan/Terran hybrid immediately began looking into using the ANUBIS' extensive weapons to create this avalanche. The first idea of using the ship's torpedoes was quickly dismissed due to the sheer explosive force of even a reduced yield detonation. Having dismissed the most direct means of delivery, the COO turned her attention to the next system that she saw as having the best odds of being able to accomplish the task. Properly modulated and targeted the ship's phasers would be more than capable of delivering the needed energy to the specific location to create the avalanche.

Trying to figure out the specific power setting for the phasers the Romulan/Terran hybrid quickly came to see that this method had not been any better than the first because of their inability to get any accurate sensor readings on the snow that they would be firing upon. Using too much power could cause part of the mountain to collapse and fall upon the ship destroying what little chances they had of gathering information, while using too little would force the ANUBIS to fire a second time increasing the odds of them being detected and giving the Jem'Hadar a heads up as to what may be heading their way. The COO had to figure out another way to trigger this avalanche, but right at that moment the former Sec/Tac officer could not see any other way of making this happen.

Looking at the systems available on the ANUBIS, the Romulan/Terran hybrid momentarily envisioned using the pulse cannons which were attached to the Array section of the ship. Far more powerful than the phasers and much more accurate than the quantum torpedoes, the pulse cannons could be use to systematically target the area they had wanted to cover with the avalanche. Although such a tactic would take more time, it would in the end accomplish finding and disabling the cloak ship in a single blow. Quickly associating the plan she had devised to using a sledge hammer to try and kill a slow moving spider, the COO dismissed her latest idea as well as using any of the ANUBIS' weapons since they were all too powerful to be used without the assistance and guidance of their sensors.

Having decided that the answer could not be found in the ANUNIS' tactical systems, the Ops officer turned her thoughts to the three Interceptors that had been placed on stand-by by the XO. Possessing a much smaller arsenal the VIPERS would have to be close to their target in order to cause the avalanche, able to perform repeated passes as required. Of course the initial problem was that the three small ships would appear on anyone's sensors as having come out of nowhere and could become the target of whatever defences the cloak ship had at its disposal. As talented as the COO believed the pilots to be she could not justify placing them in that kind of danger only because she had been unable to come up with a better plan to create the avalanche suggested by the CSciO.

Finding herself back to square one, the Romulan/Terran hybrid stared at her console with a growing sense of disappointment in her own abilities as the ANUBIS' COO. If she could not figure out how to create an avalanche despite all of her experience and training, the Ops officer wondered if the CO had been wise to assign her to the position where she now sat.

Having indulged in this self doubt for a few seconds, which had been far too long for the COO's liking, the Romulan/Terran hybrid bolted out of her seat and turned to look at the Cpt. "Sir request permission to leave the bridge. There is something that I need to check on in regards to this idea of creating an avalanche."

The CO nodded his approval before adding in a few words of caution. "Don't take too long Lt. I'll need you back at your post before all hell breaks loose."

Nodding back her understanding, the COO rushed to the back of the bridge and stepped into the turbolift.

Having waited for the doors to seal her inside of the small pod, the Romulan/Terran hybrid raised her head and addressed the ship's computer. "Computer, locate Lt. Dawson and take me to him."

Responding almost immediately to the order given by the COO, the turbolift pod began its descent into the lower decks of the ship unable to see the small grin that had formed on the face of the Romulan/Terran hybrid. Part of the responsibilities of the Ops officer was to manage the ship's resources which included its personnel and right now she needed to call upon the extensive knowledge and skill of one particular resource: Lt. David Dawson.
