#459 - USS ANUBIS: Rikar: Day 4 - 15:39 ("Discussion")
==========
" Discussion "
(Previous Post was Julian's " A Strange Request ")
==========
Stardate: 60298.1539
Setting: USS ANUBIS: Array Section, Deck A-4, IGC
(Time Index: Before and during the events in Julian's post)
The young woman had left the bridge and returned to the ICG in order to
talk to her wife about the away mission that they would soon be taking part
in… each at the head of a separate assault team. Although the greater
majority of the specifics of this had been established and clarified by the ILO, the redheaded woman had felt the need to oversee a few of the finer details with Enaii on a more personal basis. Speaking to the ILO's hologram might have been all nice and dandy for the usual run of the mill stuff, but the planned combined assault on the Hirogen ship and Jem'Hadar base of operation that was somewhere the surface of TOLAR IV had been anything but the usual stuff.
Experience and training dictated a certain professional detachment from
the 2 women but the young woman had suffered through enough… and lost too
much to not embrace the possibility that both Enaii and she would face.
"Was there something that you did not understand?" The ILO demanded in
an icy tone, not even bothering to look up as the redheaded woman enter
the IGC. Although the ExO's decision to come here had not been announced,
the security systems and camera's lining the corridors leading to this
section of the ship had insured that Enaii had known well in advance about her
wife's arrival.
"I just wanted to talk… to you… alone." The young woman replied, trying
her best not to let the ILO's tone affect her. Granted Sabrina had not
expected to receive an fanfare reception when she had come in, but neither had
the redheaded woman anticipated to be on the receiving end of such a
chilling welcome… if you could describe what Enaii had said as such.
Enaii glanced up and met the young woman's eyes for a brief moment
before the ILO returned her attention to the backpack she had been stuffing
with various types of equipment that might be needed during the assault of
the Hirogen ship. Obviously for the next few seconds that followed the
blond haired woman's priorities had placed the content of the backpack above
the desires of her life mate.
For the young woman knowing Enaii meant that she understood that in a
time like this the ILO would be as professional as anyone could have hoped a
Level 5 Field Agent to be… but sharing the title of mother to Talia
also meant that Sabrina held on to the hopes that somewhere within the
agent's soul there would be a place for her to be a feeling, caring human
being. Doing so would have given Enaii a weakness that she could not permit
herself to have, and as much as Sabrina understood this the redheaded woman did not given up on her hopes.
The ILO's expression suddenly froze as she stared at the ExO through
the small transparent screen that the headgear held in place over 1 of
Enaii's eyes. What came out of the blonde woman's lips next startled the young woman who had thought the questions to be directed to her and not
someone on the bridge.
"Can I help you Lieutenant?" Enaii inquired, looking away from the
redheaded woman only after the fact.
=/\= Yes… you can Commander. =/\= David's voice was heard replying.
=/\= Is Sabrina still up there? =/\=
The ILO ever so slowly turned to look at the young woman once again,
the icy expression on the Intel agent's features not having changed 1 iota.
"She is. Why?" Enaii replied in her usual cold and to the point tone.
=/\= Tell her to go to bed. She hasn't slept much since you departed…
and she won't listen to me. =/\= The CEO announced apparently unaware that
the woman in question had heard every word that he had said.
"As she should." Enaii pointed out as she added an exceptionally mean
looking glared that reached both the ExO and CEO at the same time.
Through the small optical display, the ILO saw the massive CEO leaning
in closer to her image on the bridge. Suspecting that he had been about
to say or do something somewhat more private, Enaii terminated the open
channel and redirected the audio feed from the bridge directly to her earpiece… insuring that no one else in the IGC would hear what would be said next.
=/\= Remember our deal Commander, or should I inform your wife of the
deal we made. =/\= David threatened causing the ILO to growl ever so
slightly while at the same time being extremely happy that she had reacted as
she had with the open channel.
"You wouldn't." Enaii whispered back as she glared at David through
her eye piece with a look that could kill 1000 men.
=/\= Try me. =/\= David challenged before leaving the bridge, his words
having been heard by only the ILO.
"Who wouldn't do what?" The young woman wondered out loud, unable to
figure out what the conversation had been all about since she had heard and
seen only half of it.
"Nothing of importance… you wanted to speak to me?" Enaii countered
with, changing the focus of the conversation with the ease and speed of a
snap.
Very aware that demanding an explanation from the ILO would be nothing
more than an exercise in futility, the young woman decided to forget about
what little she had seen and heard… instead opting to concentrate on the
reason that had brought her here in the first place.
"Could we talk… alone?" The ExO ever so quietly inquired glancing
aimlessly around to the officers working diligently at their stations. Having
worked with them the redheaded woman knew that each and every member of the
IGC team could be implicitly trusted, but that had not changed the wish of
the young woman to be able to spend a few moments alone with her life mate
before they headed out to what would most certainly be an extremely
dangerous situation.
