"Break Out"

Stardate: 60298.1548
Setting: Unknown Planet: Shuttle Bay, inside unknown ship
"Cause I have a very funny feeling that our luck is about to run out," Luke said pointing through the front window to a group of robots heading towards the shuttle in a menacing way. It was hard for Lea to see those rolling tin cans as anything else but a pile of junk, but that view soon changed when they opened fire on them.
"What are they doing?" Lea asked holding on to the edge of her seat, the sound of the impacts echoing throughout the small ship with a deafening resonance.
"Looks like they are shooting at us," Luke sarcastically replied. "My guess is that we have triggered some sort of alarm."
"It wasn't me!" Lea said letting go of her seat just long enough to bring her hands up to show that she had not touched anything other than her chair. The next volley of lasers made the SFI Agent reach for the chair once again.
"At least they are only shooting with lasers. That should give us a few extra minutes to figure out how to get out of this shuttle bay before they pierce the outer hull. Our escape would be brought to an unfortunate end if we suffered from a hull breach."
"Reassuring Luke. Very reassuring." Lea said quickly looking around the undecipherable markings on her consol. "You said that you could understand this made up language, so get us out of here."
"Would be my pleasure," Luke snapped back. "Care to point out the main access port of this shuttle bay out to me so that I don’t fly us through a wall." The performance given by Loki had been flawless. He knew exactly where the main hanger doors were but pretending that he did not only added to the story that he had fabricated and fed Lea. Involving her in the escape would only further seal their partnership.
"Maybe the door is proximity initiated?" Lea innocently suggested. It was a long shot but the SFI Agent had been unable to do any better without trying out some of the controls in front of her.
"We are running out of time and options," Luke added, pointing to the robots that had been joined by what appeared to be guards.
"Shoot at the robots!" The SFI Agent said, grabbing Luke's shoulder.
"What?"
"Just shoot them! Don't tell me that you are emotional about blasting a pile of mechanised junk."
After engaging the shuttle's engines, Luke turned the ship towards the gathering of droids and humans. The guards quickly dove for cover having figured out what was about to happen, an understanding that had eluded the smaller mechanical contraptions. With a single press of the main controls Luke fired the shuttle's limited weaponry and reduced the rolling tin cans into a heap of twisted shrapnel. The sound of the explosion was barely audible over Lea's fanatical cheering.
"You really don't like those things do you?"
"I don’t like *anything* about this place but they do rank up there," Lea replied without thinking, "Everything about here gives me the creeps, except for you."
Lea dropped back into her seat feeling her cheeks burning with embarrassment. What she had thought and the way that it had come out had not been the same but this had not been the time to try and make a correction. Best thing the SFI Agent could do for the time being was to remain quiet.
"I'm guessing that those robots were linked to the main computer and that their explosion might have caused some sort of short somewhere."
Lea went to ask why Luke had made such a wild assumption but stopped herself when she saw the main hanger doors opening as if by magic. Had she known that the destruction of those rolling tin cans would have made their escape that much easier, the SFI Agent would have sabotaged them the first time she had come across one.
Within seconds the doors had opened to their fullest and the shuttle had left the bay onward to the stars and freedom.
