Stardate: 60298.1559
Setting: Hirogen Ship

The corridors of the Hirogen ship were dark, accented only by what she imagined to be 'mood lighting', soft green light barely penetrated the darkness and added to the eerie affect of the more than surreal ship. Lining the walls were line after line of the tales of former hunts, flesh trophies so close together they nearly touched made the walls themselves look somehow evil. The smell of death permeated the air, coupled with the tension that was felt by looking into the fear-stricken faces of those whom had been beheaded as souvenir.

A dark brown frame bore the dried ridged scalp of a Klingon warrior, stretched out on all four corners in order to allow it's secure tacking to the display case. Horns from all manner of beasts, most with the skull or spinal column still firmly attached broke the gore of internal organs removed from their rightful place within their former owners. A small, infant-sized skull of a race Enaii recognised to be telekinetic beings adorned a particularly ornate pedestal, the skulls of what she could only guess to be both parents dangled unceremoniously from the platform, telling a horrid tale of parents defending their child to the death and monsters tainting the purity of a babe.

These creatures were sick, a whole race of certifiable mass murderers, they were predictable in their primal drive to kill, but that was where it ended… how they chose to kill, what their next move would be, who and what they would choose as trophy was never clear cut and only the ignorant and foolish would assume to know what these beasts would do next.

It was for all of these reasons that Enaii had chosen to take on the Hirogens herself instead of Sabrina. Though the Jem'Hadar were a more formidable opponent, they killed quickly, mercifully, efficiently… though cold at her core, Enaii could not allow her wife and lover to be desiccated in the way that these creatures so prided themselves on doing… she could not allow Sabrina's entrails to adorn the walls of such a ship.

As it was, she was able to completely focus on the mission at hand, the Executive Officer's unavoidable viper trip was a great relief, making someone else assume command of the second away team, as it should have been, and ensuring the safety of her partner.

Though typically found in the lead of such a group, Enaii instead walked among the shadows in neither the lead nor the rear, trusting the Marines to perform their function without rival. Already she had stepped over 3 Hirogen bodies, and there had yet to be an alarm sounded within the vessel. Making a mental note, she intended to commend Lieutenant Pravat for his selection of officers. They were clearly well trained, and obviously put through daily training in order to keep them from becoming nervous or rusty.

Within no time at all they had secured access to a computer station, and within two minutes time of set up, the data transfer link had been established by T'Reni. According to the storage device the Operative had brought with her, they only required 39 more seconds for the transfer to be complete.

Looking around the wide open space of the room, Enaii located all of the Marines and security officers, not a single weakness in their line that she could detect. It would have been near to impossible for her to sneak through their midst if she were to try in this situation, she honestly doubted that any Hirogen monster would be able to pose much of a risk to her at this point.

With a nearly silent beep the device indicated they had what they came for, in an instant, the marine platoon and the rest of the away team had encircled her, ready to beam back to the waiting ANUBIS. With a touch of her hand, she signalled the transport, removing a small explosive device from her tool belt as she did so and dropping it into place just as the team dematerialised from the creatures' domain. Once safely on the transporter pad, Enaii closed her eyes, visualising the hallways that she had passed through and the innocents that were guaranteed to be among the defiled, pressed a button on the switch still remaining on her belt and whispered softly, "May you all rest in peace…"
