Stardate: 60298.1635
Setting: USS ANUBIS, Corridor -> Quarters

The young woman walked down the corridor with a million and one questions filling her mind, never for an instant thinking that her life-mate could be somewhere else than where she had expected her to be… in her quarters. Something had been on Enaii's mind, that much had been for sure judging by the way the ILO had stormed out of the Romulan Frigate and the uncommon expression that the redheaded woman had noticed on the blond woman's face.

Still not having expected her life-mate to be anywhere else, the young woman reached for the door chime and announced her presence, expecting to either be greeted by a cold snap from the ILO warning her to go away or from a silent opening of the door… after all Sabrina did have clearance to walk in if she wanted to as they shared the accommodations. Instead the redheaded woman was surprised to see Talia on the other side of the opened door, a look of happiness on her youthful visage that only a child could have.

"BINA!!!" Talia exclaimed as she leaped into her second mother's arms, the tightness of the child's hug clearly indicating that this had been the first person the young girl had seen in a long time. As enjoyable as the embrace was to the young woman it also meant that Enaii had not been where she had expected her to be which left the ExO with a single unanswered question to linger in her mind… where was she?

Carrying Talia, who still held onto the young woman's neck as if her little life depended on it into the room, the ExO glanced around the living room and shot a peek into their bedroom just in case. It would not have been the first time that the ILO would have managed to enter a room completely unnoticed, and the redheaded woman knew that if she had wanted to Enaii could have made her way back into their quarters without the young girl ever being the wiser. Sabrina's hopes were soon shattered when she found the bedroom as empty of the blond woman's presence as the living room had been… Enaii had not returned to their quarters following her departure from the Romulan frigate.

"Computer… locate Lt. Cmdr. Enaii." The young woman inquired as she beamed a warm and reassuring smile to the little girl in her arms. Talia might have been young by most standard, but her level of understanding and reasoning had more than once been proven to be well above the average, so the ExO knew that requesting the ILO's location from the computer could lead her daughter from genuinely become concerned about the whereabouts of her biological mother.

=/\= The location of Lt. Cmdr. Enaii is unavailable at this time. =/\= The computer replied unemotionally, unable to comprehend the shock the news had created in both the mother and child.

"Bina, Where is Nan'ha?" The question was as simple as could be, but given the object of the query there had been no way for the redheaded woman to offer an answer… at least one that she would suspect Talia would accept or even find remotely believable.

"Looks like your mother has decided to play hide and seek… and it is up to us to find out where she is." The young woman finally replied after several moments of silence. Although not appearing completely convinced by what her adoptive mother had said, the young child seemed rather interested in the game suggested.

As the young woman gave one last lingering look at their quarters, she wonder as to just how successful their little expedition would turn out to be. The ANUBIS was a large ship and finding a person that likely did not wish to be found was not going to be an easy task… especially when that person was none other than Enaii, a person who could remain unseen in a room crowded to the brim.

Several smiles appeared on the features of those who had witnessed the arrival to the odd pair into the engineering department of the ANUBIS, the sight of the ExO there having been more than enough to make those present question the motives of the ExO for being here… especially while carrying her own daughter.

"Sabrina? Why the heck did you bring her here?" David quickly demanded, shooting a rather unpleasant glare in the direction of the young child who immediately reciprocated while adding a somewhat amusing extension of her tongue at the same time.

"Her name is *Talia*… and we are here looking for Enaii." The young woman replied while adding a low throaty growl in response to the CEO's lack of tact.

"I *know* her name… and if you are looking for Enaii, why not ask the computer?" The towering man countered with, not at all hiding his displeasure in having the little girl in such a potentially dangerous section of the ship… in fact David was a strong believer that the ANUBIS or any other Intel vessel had not been the place for a child to grow up in.

"No? Really? I hadn't thought of that." The ExO sarcastically hissed back, the frustration of not having been able to locate her life-mate having somewhat hindered her ability to remain professional in her dealings with the rest of the crew.

"Listen… if you are going to be like that… leave , go to your quarters and go play games… before something bad happens to either you and her." The CEO every so softly growled, narrowing his eyes to simply slits as he glared at the young woman.

Sabrina knew that David's threats had been empty ones, but she also knew that there had been some wisdom in what he had suggested, so without stretching the visit for any longer than she needed to, the young woman pivoted on her heels and headed out of Main Engineering… but not before Talia managed to shoot another extension of her tongue at the nasty tall man. David sighed as he watched the pair leave his domain, certain that the young girl had learned her unique sunny disposition towards him from her biological mother.

The young woman returned to where the search for Enaii had begun, trying her best to keep her concerns and worries hidden from the child in her arms. Without thinking Sabrina reached for the panel and pressed a few controls causing the doors to open revealing the object of their quest sitting in the living room as if she had been there all along.

"Nan'ha!" Talia exclaimed as she leaped out of her adoptive mother's arms and rushed into the arms of her biological mother, barely touching the ground as she did so.

"Where have you been?" The ExO demanded, using a tone of voice that she normally kept for when addressing other members of the crew who had for one reason or another performed below their expected level of proficiency.

"Here!" Enaii hissed back as she accepted the rapidly approaching child into her arms.

"Don't give me that… we have been searching for you all over the ship for the last 20 minutes or so. We were worried sick." The redheaded woman offered, dropping the official tome of an ExO in favour of a more personal one… a tone that better suited the discussion between life long companions.

"It is better for you to know that I was here… believe me." Enaii cryptically explained to the still standing young woman who could not make heads of tails of what she had just been told. Just as the ExO had been ready to try questioning the ILO from another angel, the voice of the half Human, half Romulan Ops officer came over her comm badge.

=/\= Lt. Serenna to Cmdr. Rikar… is Cmdr. Enaii with you? =/\= The way the question had been presented made the young woman believe that the hybrid had already been in possession of the answer and had only sought a confirmation.

"Yes, why?"

=/\= Can you escort her up to the bridge… the Captain wants to see her. =/\= The Ops officer explained in a way that made the ExO understand that something had happened… something bad.

"It's alright Talia… I'll be right back." Enaii unemotionally said as she placed her daughter onto the couch next to her before standing and making her way to the still opened doorway in which the ExO had been standing into all this time.

"What's going on?" Rikar demanded, aware that the communication signal with the bridge had still been open.

"Nothing." The ILO coldly replied as she walked past the redheaded woman and headed for the nearest turbolift, leaving the ExO to either follow as her escort or be left behind.

"Rikar to Serenna… we're on our way." The young woman announced before she reached for her comm badge and closed the channel, her curiosity about what had triggered this request from their CO and wondering if she truly wanted to know what had happened.
