Setting: Deck 15, Upper Crew Lounge

David stood watching the ExO and her daughter walk off and images flooded his mind. Thoughts of the life he had wished her had with her, but was stolen....

**We are NOT going to get into this** his mind warned him as he decided to take a walk....since his once raging hunger had quickly dissapated.

Stardate: 60299.1724
Setting: USS ANUBIS, Sickbay
Lea sat on a stool on one side of the biobed while Luke sat on a similar stool on the opposite side. The cloth covered the sterile bedding and the vase containing the roses sat to one side. At the start of dinner the bouquet of flowers had been directly in the middle, but in time Luke had pushed aside. When he had done this Luke had claimed that it was to better see the true beauty behind the roses, a compliment that made Lea bluish even more than she had been.

Luke and Lea had enjoyed each other's company, eating more than they spoke. Is was easy to see that they both enjoyed the taste of the fresh fruits especially when compared to the food they had shared while imprisoned.

"You know," Lea said, "if we had fruits like these back in the cell, I would not have been so anxious to escape."

"If we had fruits like these back then," Luke said in return, "I would have been happy to stay there for the rest of my days. That is of course if I had the certainty that you would be there with me."

Like an ice cube placed directly in the sun's rays in the middle of a summer heat wave, Lea felt herself melt. Luke sure knew how to make a woman feel special and the Assistant CMO enjoyed every second of it. Lea tried to say something but all she could pull off was to smile and feel her cheeks grow warmer with each passing moment. When Lea had finally gathered enough of her wits to speak, she could not because of a strawberry that Luke had brought to her mouth. What could Lea say? Luke knew exactly what to say and do and at that moment the Assistant CMO didn't care about the rest.

Lea's lips wrapped around the fruits becoming stained by the red liquid that squirted from it. The fruit had been simply delicious but the gesture had been what Lea felt truly won over by. When Luke reached for another strawberry, Lea abandoned herself to the moment closing her eyes and parting her lips.

The fruits had been moments away from Lea's lips when the doors to Sickbay opened.

"Lea, I was thinking maybe we could…" Lt. Dawson said, his words stopping dead in their tracks as had his feet. The sight of the Assistant CMO leaning over the decorated biobed and of the man he had helped rescue from certain death had been a shock. The more David looked at the scene the more he felt strange emotions stir within him.

After several moments of silence, David spun around on his heels and left Sickbay.

"David?" Lea called out to the man. Although the Assistant CMO had been sure that he had heard her, the CEO had not stopped.

"I think he came to see you," Luke said in his usual charming voice. "Maybe you should go see what he wanted," Luke added, the entrance of the CEO having given him the perfect excuse to bring this charade to an end.

"Are you sure?" Lea asked, not wanting to leave but also not wanting to ignore David. The CEO might have had something important or even urgent to discuss and had simply been caught off guard by the sight of Luke feeding Lea in a romantic fashion.

"Go," Luke insisted. "I will save desert for another time."

Torn between staying to see what desert would have been and going after David, Lea eventually left, her call to duty winning in the end.

Lea had been forced to sprint like never before to catch up to David. Being taller than she was, the CEO's steps matched almost perfectly two of the Assistant CMO's. Because of this Lea had been forced to work twice as hard, but in the end she caught up to the tall engineer.

"David? Why did you leave like that?" Lea asked, placing herself in the path of the man without any regards for her own safety or life.

"Is that a trick question?" David asked never stopping as he side stepped the aCMO. She grabbed his arm... which she quickly regretted as she felt the sinews in David's arms tighten...

"David... talk to me."

David smirked, then sighed... running his hand over his bald scalp. "Women..." he mumbled.

"Excuse me?" Lea said.

"I was going to ask you if you'd have dinner with me."

Lea's brow crept up her forehead, "Now... that is a trick question. Why me?"

"Because you're the only one I feel like being bothered by." the CEO replied... then instantly wishing her would have kept walking.

"Well... I don't want to be a bother to anyone" Lea snapped as she started to walk off as David reached out to grab her.

"Lea wait... that didn't come out right." and he sighed heavily, "I just had a talk with Sabrina and she suggested that I don't be alone right now. I had asked her to join me, but with Enaii tied up in de briefings no one can watch Talia..."

"...who would?" she mumbled

David chuckled and went on, "Serrena lectures me too much..with her being the second officer, she oversees my DOT..."

"I see... next?" the aCMO said as they slowly made their way back down the cooridor.

"There's Maya... she'd talk me to death."

"Are you always *this* judgemental of your crewmates David?" Lea asked.

"Judgemental? That's truth" the CEO replied.

"Tell you what... why don't you and I have breakfast tomorrow morning? To make up for..." and her voice trailed off. For the first time in their conversation, Lea's eyes met David's. The golden hazel eyes of the CEO looked warm and inviting... what the hell was wrong with her as she shook her head as she bumped into another engineer... with the two solid pips and the one hollow one.

"Gotcha!" she said, "thought you could hide from me didn't you?"

"Mimi..." David's voice trailed off as 4 security officers approached,

"What the hell is going on here?" Lea asked.

"Stay out of this *Ensign*" the lieutenant commander hissed, "this doesn't concern you."

"What are *they* for?" David asked.

"To escort you to the base's engineering department... since you can't come when you're summoned."

"Mimi... I think I can get there..."

"Move" she hissed.

"Now wait a damn minute" Lea said, "I don't think..."

"Its not your place to think Ensign... and since you're on the subject, who the hell are you?"

"*Ensign* Lea Summers, aCMO USS ANUBIS. And who the hell are you?" she replied tersly.

"You're worse nightmare if you don't get out of my face."

"Mimi... that's enough. You've been looking for me..you found me... let's go." he said walking off as the 4 security officers parted as the massive CEO walked by... all four placing their hands near their phasers.

"Commander... is all that necessary?" Lea inquired.

"As I said its none of your business..."

"Well... I'd like to know what the hell is going on?" another voice said from behind them. Lea turned and saw Commander Rikar.

"Commander..." Lea said

"Let's have it" Sabrina said.

"Well... if *you* must know... I have been summoning David all day with no response. So I got this..." she handed Sabrina a padd.

As the red haired ExO scanned its contents, her green eyes widened. "Who authorized a transfer without contacting me or Captain Simmons?"

"Transfer?!" Lea said.

"Read on *Commander*" Vasquez said sarcastically.

"Well... looks like I'll be having a talk with Commander Foley. No one comes aboard this ship transferring anyone without me knowing about it."

"Its too late Commander. This transfer is effective immidately. Looks like you loose him... again." she said with a sly grin like she stole a chicken from the coop and walked off.

"Commander... can she do that... and just who in the hell is she?!" Lea asked as Sabrina scanned the padd.

"Oh my God... I didn't think... I didn't believe him..."

"Believe who Commander?" Lea asked.

Sabrina's green eyes darkened as she stalked off, "Ensign, you're with me! She wants to play hardball... we can play."

Lea had to play catch up for the second time as shook her head. **I should have stayed in Sickbay** she thought as the doors to the lift whooshed shut.
