Setting: NEW ALEXANDRIA, Section C-2, Level 1, Corridor outside Infirmary
The young woman stood outside in the corridor… pacing from one end to the other and back. Her position as the ANUBIS' ExO or even her experience as a former CMO had not been sufficient for the redheaded woman to be granted access to the room where David had been brought following his heart attack. To add insult to injury… the ANUBIS' CSciO had not only been granted what the ExO had been denied, but Maya had literally been dragged into the room the moment she had arrived leaving 2nd Lt. Pravat in the same general situation as Rikar.
"Any idea what this is all about?" The Marine inquired as he scratched the back of his head, trying to figure out what could have happened to the ANUBIS' CEO without letting himself imagine the worst case scenario.
"You probably know more than I do… which right about now is not all that difficult… I was simply informed that David was being brought to the base's infirmary due to a medical emergency… beyond that I know nothing." The young woman explained as she continued her pacing down the corridor.
"Sir… The only thing I can add is that Maya was asked to come here because of her expertise on nanites." Pravat offered as he followed the ExO with his eyes, more than content to remain in place while the redheaded woman walked a grove into the corridor's floor.
"What happened?" James demanded immediately after rounding the corner and seeing his ExO and MCO in front of the door leading to the base's infirmary.
"It's David… and my guess is that he suffered from some sort accident… but since only Lea and Maya were allowed access in, I can't tell you more." Sabrina replied unable to hide the hint of annoyance in her voice at the fact that an Ensign and Lieutenant had been allowed to go where a Commander *with* medical experience had been denied.
James seemed puzzled by his ExO's admission while at the same time appearing concerned for the well being of his CEO… or more to the point the event that had led him to be in the state that he was now in. If something had happened that warranted the command staff of the ANUBIS to remain outside and in the dark as to the specifics it could only mean 1 thing… that neither he nor Rikar would like it when the dust settled.
The unspoken questions as to what had happened came to a sudden pause when the doors to the infirmary hissed opened allowing the aCMO to emerge… looking rather puzzled.
"How is he?" James inquired first beating the other 2 members of his staff to the punch.
"David is out of immediate danger thanks to Dr. Wallin and Maya…" Ens. Summers reported letting the rest of her answer drift into unspoken silence as she glanced over her shoulder and back into the infirmary.
"But?" Sabrina added rather forcefully not at all taking kindly to the aCMO's hesitation… she would have acted the same way for any other member of the ANUBIS' crew, but that all of this concerned David only made matters worse. With her life-mate involved in a mysterious debriefing that she had been told to not ask about, the young woman's patience had already been greatly reduced.
"It might be easier if you saw for yourself." Summers finally announced after a few more moments of hesitation… truth be known the aCMO had absolutely no idea as to how to describe what she had seen… and heard.

The young woman walked into the room followed by James and Pravat with Lea bringing up the rear. Although the layout of the infirmary had been completely foreign to the ANUBIS' ExO it had nonetheless been relatively easy for her to locate those she had been looking for… the rather large gathering of individuals around 1 section of the medical facility having drawn her attention in that direction.
"Commander… Captain… Lieutenant…" Doctor Wallin offered as the 3 officers approached the biobed on which Lt. Dawson had been set on. Because of her medical training and experience, Sabrina's eyes went immediately to the medical panel over the head of the bed instead of acknowledging and replying to the CMO's greeting, something that James did preferring to have a verbal report instead of trying to figure it all out on his own.
"What happened?" The ANUBIS' CO quietly inquired of the Cairn Doctor as he glanced over the CMO's shoulder at the somewhat agitated form of the CEO.
"Lt. Dawson suffered from a massive blockage of the primary coronary vessels to his left Atrium and Ventricle causing a complete cardiac arrest. Standard C-P-R not having been as successful as we might have anticipated, we were forced to call upon Lt. Maya to help us reach and use the nanites that were found to be in him." The base's CMO explained leaving the CO and MCO a little baffled by the rather overly detailed explanation.
"Why would he suffer a heart attack?" The young woman inquired, clarifying the situation for those less versatile in the obscure realm of Medical lingo.
"We have not yet been able to make that determination… but right now I am more interested in the brainwave patterns that we have been detecting from him." Wallin offered as he directed everyone's attention to 1 particular section of the medical readouts flashing on the panel over the head of the bed.
"No… not again… Mimi… Samantha…" David mumbled loud enough for everyone gathered around his bed to hear.
"My guess is that Mimi refers to Cmdr. Vasquez… but who is Samantha?" Wallin queried, not at all sounding surprised that the CEO had suddenly begun to de delirious.
"That would be me… sort of… it’s a long story." Sabrina admitted, attracting a rather unpleasant glare from the aCMO.
"Ah yes… following your accident that saw you drifting in space for several days you lost your memory and the persona of 'Samantha Rikar' emerged possessing all of your technical skills and knowledge but without any of the memories that made you who you were." The CMO clarified as if he had only recently reviewed the young woman's entire psychological history. Just as Rikar had been ready to ask as to how the Cairn had known all of this so easily, David began to speak once again, causing everyone else to become absolutely still and quiet.
"No… no… Sabrina… please…" David whispered, unfortunately not weak enough to avoid the aCMO from hearing him causing her to once again glare at the redheaded woman now certain beyond any doubts that the ExO had been the cause of this particular inner demon that had come to the surface of the CEO's thoughts.
"Some of the readings from his brain activities are well off the scale while others are almost at a comatose level… I have no way of knowing if he is working his way *out* of this mental and emotional nightmare or sinking deeper into it." The Cairn Doctor announced as he turned his attention towards the ExO hoping that she might be able to offer some clarifications.
Before the redheaded woman could offered anything, David continued.
"Mimi… Sabrina… I'm sorry… I didn't want to hurt you… no… Lea… I can't… I don’t want to hurt anyone anymore."
The aCMO's eyes opened to their widest as she heard her name added to the list being spoken by David making her wish now more than before that she could do something to bring this to an end for him.
