Setting: USS ANUBIS, Bridge
Sitting in the CO's chair, the Romulan/Terran hybrid reviewed the logs and reports that had been handed to her while she was in command. Cpt. Simmons and Cmdr. Rikar had left to see Adm. Koneki and suspecting that the meeting might be a lengthy one, the COO had figured it safe to take over the main chair instead of remaining at her station while the two senior most ranking officers were off ship.
Quickly scanning the various reports and logs, the Romulan/Terran hybrid prioritized the PADDs placing the ones of highest interest on the top. It came to no ones' surprise that the medical report on Lt. Dawson's condition had landed at the very top of this pile. Glancing around the bridge to insure that everything was as it should, the COO immersed herself into the report trying to assist as best she could in the search for an answer in regards to the discrepancy in David's medical readings and condition.
Reading the medical report, some of which had been well above the Intel trained expertise in that domain, Serenna wondered how the CEO had managed to survive as long as he had given his long standing history of injuries and accidents. Having thought this though, the COO counted herself as well as the rest of the ANUBIS' staff as lucky that the man had been, as the expression went, a hard man to kill. Hoping that this would soon be all behind them, the Romulan/Terran hybrid continued her reading of the reports admitting to no one but herself that she would not be able to help in this search for answers.
Looking at the next PADD, the COO was pleased to see that the upgrades to the BARRACUDA and PHINX had been almost completed by the combined efforts of the ANUBIS and NEW ALEXANDRIA engineering teams. Reading the report, the Romulan/Terran hybrid remembered what Cpt. Simmons had said about the aCEO and quickly acted to correct the oversight. "Computer, begin recording of official ship's log, stardate 60301.0825, Lt. Serenna in temporary command. Following an as of yet unexplained medical situation, Lt. David Dawson, CEO of the ANUBIS, has been taken to the Infirmary of NEW ALEXANDRIA. Since no time frame has been given for his recovery, and as per Cpt. Simmons' instructions, Lt. T'Reni is hereby assigned to the position of acting CEO. End log"
Having accomplished the only official task that the CO had given her, the Romulan/Terran returned to her reading of the engineering reports about the state of the upgrades to the two specialized crafts and the expected improvements that the remote drones would provide. Feeling much more at ease reading engineering explanation than medical clarifications, the COO took her time to fully familiarize herself with what Lt. Fairborn had been so kind in providing about the drones' specifications and performance ratings.

Setting: USS ANUBIS, Bridge
Suddenly realizing that she had spent a considerable amount of time on the engineering report, the Romulan/Terran hybrid glanced up at the ship's chronometer to see that almost one full hour had passed since she had taken charge of the bridge and of the ANUBIS. Feeling guilty that she had become overly interested in a single aspect of her duties, the COO once again scanned the bridge and found that everything was under control. Given that the ship was docked at their base of operations which was located deep inside an asteroid inside a field that counted thousands of others in a section of space that was well out of the way, the former Sec/Tac officer saw that she had slightly overreacted.
Taking reassurance in her reasoning that the current state of affairs would not change soon, the Romulan/Terran hybrid returned to her reading of her reports, making a mental note to return to the information about the drones at a later time. The next PADD down contained the status of the crew and the changes in shift rotations, information that normally passed through the hands of the ExO well before reaching those of the COO if they made it that far. Seeing this as a perfect chance to see a side of Rikar's duties that few others knew about, Serenna once again immersed herself in the content of the PADD.
Appearing first on the crew report was a list of the senior staff members followed by a single line report on their current status. The COO was in no way surprised to see the names of the ANUBIS' CO and ExO at the top of this list with the notation that both had been on active duty, pointing out what the Romulan/Terran hybrid considered to be obvious, but what she read next came as unexpected. Reading the name and rank of the ANUBIS' ILO, Serenna saw that Lt. Cmdr. Enaii had been marked as being *temporarily relieved of duty* by none other than the base's senior most officer, Adm. Koneki.
Not having seen Enaii during the senior staff meeting had been easily accounted for by the ILO's debriefing which everyone knew about on some level, but to see the officer as having been listed *relieved of duty* had come as quite a shock to the COO. Why would the Admiral suspend Enaii's clearances and access to the base and ship only because she was being debriefed? Thinking back to the incident that had occurred with the two Romulan agents and their escape, the Romulan/Terran hybrid could only imagine that this *temporary* condition had been part of the ILO's disciplinary measures making Serenna realize that within the Intel world, forgiveness for past transgressions came at a high price.
Still thinking about the ship's ILO and CEO and their respective situations, the Romulan/Terran hybrid continued with her processing of the reports and logs actually believing for the first time that the absence of an official ship's Cns might prove to become an increasing problem for some people onboard the ANUBIS.
