The young woman sat at the desk reversed for the nurse on duty… her gaze drifting between the ANUBIS' CEO and the single PADD that rested on top of that desk. As a former CMO, Cmdr. Rikar felt a certain level of professional compassion and concern for the man who rested on the biobed… emotions that also touched a more personal aspect of her soul because of the time David and *Samantha* had shared… but as an ExO the redheaded woman had been more concerned about the solidity of the bonds restraining the massive engineer than anything else. David had already lashed out at his fellow officers and as far as the First Officer had been concerned there had been no reason to believe that this would not happen again…so she watched him with a strange mixture of anxiety and care.
It had been just about 2 hours since James had returned to the ship along with the Ops Officer and head of the Marine corps assigned to the ANUBIS… 2 hours that the CSciO and aCMO had used to their best to try and understand what had happened to David. From the young woman's point of view it had been easy to see that the arrival and assistance of Ens. Mei had been most welcomed by both women, the 3 of them having worked diligently to answer the countless questions that had remained unanswered.
For a brief moment the young woman's eyes had drifted onto the 3 women while they worked as she remembered a time when she held their respective positions and performed their duties during her lengthy career within Starfleet. Sabrina could not help but be in awe at each of the officers feeling that they each performed their respective duties better than she could have ever hoped to. Ensign Mei had demonstrated in the short period of time that she had been here an uncanny gift of observation and psychological analysis that had left the redheaded woman truly envious. Ensign Summers seemed to have a passion for her work that she had not seen since the days of the AVALON… and Lt. Maya could only be described as a walking scientific machine that never seemed satisfied with her own findings always believing that the *real* truth had been just a little further.
When Rikar realised that her mind had drifted well beyond the boundaries of the reasons why she had been here, the young woman quickly returned her gaze onto the resting man, once again insuring that the straps binding his wrists, arms, ankles, legs and chest had still been in place and untouched.
"Cmdr. Rikar… may I ask you a question?" The ANUBIS' new Cns inquired, making the young woman jump because she had not expected the Ensign to appear next to her as she had.
"By all means Ensign… ask away." Rikar offered in return as she saw the faint grin on Susan's lips that indicated that the Ensign had noticed the ExO's surprise despite the redheaded woman's best efforts to hide it.
"Why are you so paranoid about David? I have noticed that you have been keeping watch on him more closely than a Ferengi would be looking at an entire shipment of gold pressed latnium bricks. Is there something that we have not been told about his condition that you are aware of?" The Ensign politely inquired as she lowered herself onto the vacant chair that had been next to the desk where the ExO had taken position.
Sabrina stared at Susan for a few moments, making the Ensign feel as if she had been under the scrutiny of some sort wordless inquisition… but eventually the young woman broke the silence that had grew between them to Mei's great relief.
"Since I suspect that you are the type of person from whom it is impossible to keep any sort of secret from… I will save you the trouble and time. The problem is not about David… it is about me… or more precisely about another side of me." The young woman explained before going into more details about the time several years ago when she had found herself in a piece of wreckage, near death adrift in the coldness of space before being rescued by a Federation research vessel. The psychological trauma of having faced death had caused the redheaded woman to suffer from amnesia and to cause the persona of *Sabrina Rikar* to be replaced by that of a *Samantha Rikar*… a woman who had not a care in the world, who had no family and who eventually found her way onto the AVALON and into the heart of the man laying on the biobed.
The young woman continued with the strange and unbelievable tale explaining that she had felt a strange emotional tugging within her mind and soul when the 2 personas came in contact and fought for control over her body. Eventually her original memories reasserted themselves pushing *Samantha* out once and for all… the unfortunate timing of that event having been when David had proposed to her. From that day on life had been a roller coaster ride in which Sabrina discovered that not only had she been previously married, but that she had become the adoptive mother of a sweet 4 years old child named Talia.
"So you are afraid that what Lt. Maya and Ens. Summers have discovered about the sudden and unexplained changes in David's brainwave patterns might be him going through something similar brought on by *his* near-death experience." Susan knowingly nodded as she took down some notes on a PADD which she had expertly concealed beneath the edge of the desk out of view of the ExO.
"*Samantha* was a physical and emotional manifestation of the person that I was never able to become because of the life and family that I had… and as a former Cns I know and accept this. She was completely carefree and jumped into her work with the same passion as a first year cadet while having access to the experiences and working knowledge of a veteran officer. Because of this she felt no remorse or shame in pursuing more personal objectives… my concerns is that I know David… and I know about his darker side." The young woman concluded with, once again bringing her gaze to rest on the heavily restrained man less than a few meters away.
"Don't worry Commander… you came back… stronger and better than before because of it… and I'm sure we will find a way to bring Lt. Dawson back as well."

Stardate: 60301.2100
Setting: NEW ALEXANDRIA, Section A, Level 6, Admiral Koneki's Office
Working inside a base that officially did not exist… dealing with
situation
that the greater majority of the general population knew nothing about…
and
trying to stay 1 step ahead of those who would like nothing more than
to see
the Federation and all that it stood for fail had been from the very
beginning a job filled with excitement and intrigued. The unexpected
capture of a Vidiian shuttle and its Phage infected crew had been only
1 of
several aspects of this life… the events that had transpired in the
Infirmary in Section C-2 had been another. Although having nothing in
common with one another, the two events weighted heavily on the
Admiral's
mind for different reasons… yet once all of the superfluous details
were
removed, the 2 dealt with the same thing… the safety of the Federation
and
its citizens.
With his hands clasped behind his back, Admiral Koneki gazed onto the form of the USS ANUBIS currently docked in its rightful place as his mind reviewed some of the details that had come to his attention following the arrival of the CEO's medical file on his desk. With agents working in every field and department of every major governments including Starfleet meant that no information had been beyond the Admiral's reach, something that the head of NEW ALEXANDRIA had grown rather accustomed to. Koneki saw not knowing about something as a failure on his part and a weakness of his organisation that waited to be taken advantage of by someone else… so the Admiral made sure to stay on top of everything, regardless of how insignificant it may seem.
The Admiral's attention was diverted away from the docking area when Allyson's voice came over the open comm channel.
=/\= Admiral… Doctor Wallin is here to see you. =/\=
"Show him in…" Koneki replied never taking his eyes off the ANUBIS or unclasping his hands in order to greet the NEW ALEXANDRIA's CMO.
"You wanted to see me?" The Cairn Doctor inquired as he nervously made his way into the large office, having responded to the summon as quickly has his legs had permitted it to.
"The file requested from Starfleet Medical about Lt. Dawson is on my desk… you know what you have to do." The Admiral said, his voice as calm as that of an El-Aurian and as cold and lacking in emotion as that of a Vulcan.
"The file has already arrived?" The base's CMO inquired, having heard of the request and having expected the information to take several days to get here without revealing to anyone its ultimate destination.
"The file was never in the hands of Starfleet Medical… it was transferred the moment Lt. Dawson came to be under our service… along as that of every other member of the ANUBIS' crew. Now if you don’t mind Doctor… I have important issues to address." Koneki hissed, indicating without saying so that the meeting had come to an end and that the CMO had been summarily dismissed.
Without saying anything Doctor Wallin reached for the PADD containing the medical information on the ANUBIS' CEO before leaving in the same manner that he had arrived… nervously.
