Stardate: 60320.1730
Setting: TANGIERS ORBITAL, 2nd Floor
Listening to Guntiz talk about his varied adventures
to the far reaches of the four quadrants made the
Romulan/Terran hybrid realize that the Dralian might
actually have something worth noting for her report.
Seeping through the tons of inconsequential
information on the other hand made the woman in the
role of Sevaal wonder if the time invested on this
matter would prove to be worth it, but like everything
else on the TANGIERS ORBITAL this was a gamble that
the ANUBIS' COO had been tempted to conquer.
Having allowed the Dralian to verbally wander around
several subjects, the woman who had introduced herself
as T'Pring decided to narrow the field of her Intel
gathering to a single item that Guntiz had mentioned
earlier. "You mentioned something about having seen
an artefact that had been said to be only a legend but
failed to specify which artefact this was."
Smiling at the Vulcan woman, the Dralian merchant
stopped and reviewed what he had been saying,
realizing only then that he had been doing all of the
talking for the past hour. "Sorry about that, as you
can guess I don't get the chance to talk to that many
people during my travels, so it is nice to find
someone who is genuinely interested in hearing about
some of the things I have seen, which reminds me, have
you even been to POLLUX IX?"
Suspecting that Guntiz shared one of the more
prominent traits of the ANUBIS' CSciO, that of being
able to shoot off on a tangent that could last for
hours by simply blinking an eye, the undercover
Romulan/Terran hybrid wasted no time in keeping the
Dralian on track. "You mentioned having seen an
artefact that did not exist."
Nodding like a mad man the Dralian leaned in closer
to the Romulan/Terran hybrid, apparently not wanting
too many people overhearing what he had to say about
this mysterious object. Looking to both sides first,
Guntiz made sure that no one had been near them before
he reached out and took the Vulcan's hand. "I'll tell
you, but you cannot tell another living soul about
this. I know if this is so secretive why would I tell
you, it is not logical, but I like you and since you
have been listening to me for the last hour I think
that I owe you a little something. Actually I feel
like I owe you a lot, it is not everyday that I get to
spend so much time with a lovely lady such as
yourself."
Although finding the Dralian's comments flattering,
the woman who had been given the role of a Tal'Shiar
operative could not permit herself to be diverted from
her mission, not that she would have been had the
Romulan/Terran hybrid been in this location as
herself. "You were going to tell me about the
artefact?"
Grinning fro ear-to-ear Guntiz again nodded before
leaning even closer so that his mouth almost touched
the right cheek of the Romulan/Terran hybrid.
Fighting back her instinct to swat the Dralian away
from her and onto the floor, the woman in the role of
Sevaal waited to see what would happen next and was
soon rewarded by a soft whispering that she could
barely hear despite the alien's proximity. "The Stone
of Gol, I have seen it with my own two eyes, and since
it is a Vulcan artefact, I thought you might like to
know that it is still out there."
Hearing the name of the mythical psyonic weapon that
had been at one time sought by a group of Vulcan
isolationists, the Romulan/Terran hybrid was about to
lean away from the Dralian when he reached for her
shoulders and immobilized T'Pring. Not wanting to
turn this into a physical confrontation, the
undercover COO decided to simply inform Guntiz of what
she knew about the fate of the item in question. "The
Stone of Gol was destroyed by Vulcan High Command
almost a hundred years ago; you could not have seen
it."
Returning to his chair, but keeping his voice to
nothing more than a soft whisper, Guntiz did not
appear shocked by the announcement made by his
companion. "No, that is what the Vulcan government
wanted everyone to believe, the Stone of Gol was too
powerful of a find to simply destroy, so they faked
its destruction and hid the item away. A few years
later, it was *misplaced* during a battery of tests
being conducted on it. Some believed that it was
taken by some rogue Vulcan organization while others
believed that an outside force had managed to take
possession of it. Either way the Stone of Gol had
vanished, and no one on the Vulcan government was
ready to admit that it had not been destroyed."
Not ready to believe a single word said by Guntiz,
the Romulan/Terran hybrid took note of all that the
Dralian had said so as to verify with the ILO or the
NEW ALEXANDRIA's Administration as to the possibility
that the story had not been a fabrication but had
actually been the truth, either in part of in whole.
Looking at the Vulcan woman as if the entire
discussion had never happened, the smiling Dralian
took hold of T'Pring's hand. "You have been listening
to my ramblings for long enough, how about you and I
go and have some fun at the Bado tables and see if my
luck has truly changed?"
Hoping to learn more about the fate of the Vulcan
artefact and its current whereabouts, the
Romulan/Terran hybrid accepted the offer and followed
Guntiz wondering what other unbelievable stories she
might be adding to her report at the end of this
mission.
