Stardate: 60322.2335
Setting: NEW ALEXANDRIA, Admiral Koniki's Office
Admiral Charles M. Koniki… CO of the Intel base NEW ALEXANDRIA, a
structure of which the existence of was known by only a select few… stood in
front of his desk, his mind reviewing all that he had read, heard and learned
about the ANUBIS' last mission… the one to the TANGIERS ORBITAL.
A great deal of information had been gathered despite the sudden end of
the mission… mostly about a pair of misguided individuals who thought that
they would be able to take over the universe. If the Admiral had been able
to commission a new vessel every time such a story had reached him, the
NEW ALEXANDRIA fleet would surpass that of the Federation… the Romulan Star
Empire… The Cardassian Union… *COMBINED*. That said though, 1 of the
more important rules of Intel had always been to never underestimate an
opponent, whoever insignificant he or they might have first appeared to be.
The idea had been to speak to Enaii to get a more in-depth report of
what had taken place during the mission… what the Admiral got in addition of
that was something utterly unexpected. The flag officer of the NEW
ALEXANDRIA had always prided himself in providing his operative with as much
information as possible when sending them in the field. Although the
mission to the extravagant casino had not required the highest level of
details to be given to the crew of the ANUBIS, Koneki had not expected
that any of them would be given incomplete Intel. This bothered him a great
deal and he would get to the bottom of this… one way or another.
A chime indicated that an incoming transmission had arrived drew the
man out of his thoughts and directed him to a large stone carved rectangle that held a view screen in its centre. For most, the delicate and intricate
designs that appeared on the frame would have been more than enough to divert
their attention from the picture that had appeared within, but to the
Admiral, the scene had become all too familiar.
"Report." Koneki peacefully demanded, echoing a contrast to the rage
that he felt growing within… Enaii had been given every reason to be in the
state that she had been in, and now he would find out what had happened.
=/\= We have reviewed the logs provided and are ready to answer your
questions. =/\= A female voice said, the screen having opened up on a
completely black room.
"Did you hear what Enaii reported?" The Admiral inquired, knowing that
the sisters hidden in the darkness had a habit of keeping track of their
own when they were on NEW ALEXANDRIA… and especially in the Admiral's
office.
=/\= We have… and based on the mission logs and the additional data
provided by Enaii's testimony we evaluate her conclusion to have a 97%
chance of being accurate. =/\= A second female voice was heard saying
from the darkness, the intonations and manner of speech being very close to
those of the first… pointing to their obvious status as siblings.
"How is that possible? I have handpicked *every* member of this staff…
I can't believe that anyone of them would dare to betray me." The Admiral
huffed as he ran his hand over his lower jaw in irritation and anger…
the flames of revenge having flared in his eyes.
=/\= Initial profiling of the crew did report that some had a higher
percentage to see their focus and interest change after having been
exposed to the type of life and mission objectives this base operates around.
As low as the percentage may have been at that time, it is very probably
that an unknown event to us came into play and drastically altered the
probabilities of a mole emerging within the ranks. We did warn you
that when taking into account all of the possible variable given to us, that
there had been a 42% chance that one of the members of the NEW
ALEXANDRIA staff could become entangled in affairs that would jeopardize the
safety of a ship or even of the entire base. =/\= A third voice from the darkness added, moving the number of unseen siblings to 3.
"Maybe so… but I had a hoped that you had been for once wrong." Koneki
stated, a hint of disappointment hovering in his voice. That the
Admiral had to once again admit to the sisters that they had been correct in
their probability analysis had not been that much of a shot against the man's
ego… but having someone he had trusted betray him in this manner had been
more than he cared to admit.
=/\= We took the liberty of re-evaluating the personnel that had been
involved with the preparations of the ANUBIS' last mission taking into
account all new information… and we have identified the most probable
cause for the lacking Intel. There is a 86% chance that Admiral Chaste
Kenth, the NEW ALEXANDRIA's SOO, met with someone during his last voyage to
CARDASSIA PRIME. Given the Admiral's past, there is only a 4% chance that he
could have been directly implicated or blackmailed into helping, but given
her strong family ties and the jobs of many of her children, we have
figured that there is a 93% chance that 1 of them has gotten into some sort of
trouble and that the Admiral was given this opportunity to make amends.
=/\= A fourth voice commented in a rather unemotional manner.
=/\= Based on the information available to us… there is a 97% chance
that the Admiral would be willing to sacrifice 1 or more of our operatives
in order to save any of his children. =/\= Yet another voice added,
bringing the total number of similar sounding people hiding in the complete
darkness of the room the view screen had been opened on to 5.
The Admiral remained silent… as much as he may have completely
disagreed with the method and subsequent endangerment of one of his operatives, Koneki could not hold fault in the NEW ALEXANDRIA's SOO wanting to keep his family safe… unfortunately the flag officer had to think about the safety of his own family… the rest of the officers working under the banner of this Intel base.
=/\= Given the failure of the ANUBIS' last mission and that there is a
91% chance that Zulot is somehow involved in the affairs surrounding
Admiral Fields, we suspect that there is a 88% chance that the next mission
dealing with the Cardassian will also suffer from some sort of lacking or
compromised Intel. The situation must be resolved quickly or all
missions to come will have an increased percentage of failure due to unreliable preparation.=/\= The 1st of the 5 women heard previously said, indicating that the situation had been thoroughly analysed by the sisters.
"I will deal with him as soon as we are finished here… now tell me
about your analysis into the crew of the MERCURY and Lt. Dawson." Koneki
demanded as he made his way back to his desk. As much as the situation with the base's SOO troubled him, the Admiral had other things on his mind… like
the possibility of losing the ANUBIS' CEO.
=/\= That is an easy one… there is a 81% chance that the crew of the
MERCURY are indeed alive and being held captive in some remote location. As
for Lt. Dawson, there is a 78% chance that he will leave and seek revenge
against those responsible for the death of his brother which will result in a
87% chance that the crew of the MERCURY will be terminated so as to avoid
any repeated efforts… the assassination attempt on the lives of Zulot and
T'Preel having a 97% chance of being seen as a way to force the release
of the captured officers.=/\= The 3rd unseen woman chimed in.
=/\= But his chances for success in reaching and killing them both is
only 26% if he attempts this on his own… despite his strength and
engineering skills, Lt. Dawson lacks in discipline and his temper will more than likely be the most damaging obstacle he will have to face. =/\= The voice of the 2nd profiler was heard saying.
"What if I offered David the possibility of having the ANUBIS be sent
on that exact mission? To seek and take out T'Preel and Zulot? Would he
be more inclined to stay? I would hate to have to put him through a
mind-wipe although I am sure that he could use a character readjustment like the one what was performed on Ens. Summers." The Admiral noted with a sigh, not at all liking the way this story had turned out but realising that his
options had been few and far in between.
=/\= There is only a 54% chance that Lt. Dawson will accept to remain
on board the ANUBIS given the current situation even if you offer him to
send the ship and crew on that mission. =/\= The 4th woman
Pointed out from the shadows.
=/\= That said though, the odds of success in such a mission would be
increased to 87% given the presence of Ens. Doratheva and Lt. Cmdr.
Enaii on the crew. Such a mission would also have a 74% chance of restoring
partial stability within the political system of the Cardassian Union which at
this time is finding itself thorn on several internal issues. If something
is not done about this, there is a 98% chance that within the next 3
months the Federation will lose at least 5 more ships as these individuals
escalade their efforts. You must act now. =/\= The 6th and final female voice
said before the screen shot off as Koneki forcefully hit the control panel
located on his desk returning the Admiral to his quiet
solitude.
Several moments passed in absolute silence as the Admiral contemplated
what he would need to do. The sisters had always been a great help in
providing a clear set of possibilities, but on this particular matter it seemed as if the options available had been reduced to only 1.
"Allyson… get me Chaste Kenth… I want to see her in my office *now*.
Once she is here, get me Simmons… Rikar… and Dawson. I want to speak to
them all afterwards… one after the other."
