Lea had come to sickbay that morning to find the main treatment area empty. The CMO had not expected to find anyone there, but the surprise was still a pleasant one. Having been aware of the training exercise between Pravat and Eva's men, Lea had expected the worst. So it was with no small amount of relief that she had gone to her office to begin the day's routine. Not having to deal with more broken bones would certainly play a large part in this day starting our right.
The CMO had barely made it to her desk when she heard the beeping of her console. Someone was trying to get a hold of her without using the standard comm system. Curious to find out why, Lea pressed the activation switch and sat in her chair. What Lea saw on the small screen was the face of the ANUBIS' new Sec/Tac office, Ens. Doratheva. Lea did not know all that much about the physiology of Edo/Betazoid mixes. The CMO knew that hybrids could have certain physical difficulties because of the genetic specifications of their parent. Using that general knowledge, Lea could guess what the problems could be. For Eva though Lea had no idea, but the sickly green tint of the hybrid's face made it clear that something was wrong.
[/\] Doctor, could you please come to the bridge. I need your help. [/\]
"You look like you swallowed a tennis ball. It might be best for you to come down here. I will be able to treat whatever is causing this faster." Lea replied, never having suspected the Sec/Tac to be one of those people who got space sick.
[/\] I cannot leave the bridge. Please Doctor, I am asking you as a fellow Ensign, come to the bridge. Quickly. [/\] And with that the screen went blank. If there had been a true medical emergency, Eva would have called for anyone from the medical department. So Lea was doubly curious as to why she had been singled out for this strange request. Reaching for her medical kit, the CMO figured that there was only one way to find out.

Lea walked onto the bridge to find no one sitting in the CO's chair, no one manning the ExO's station and the back of the room vacant of personnel. The CMO took a single step towards Eva before the Sec/Tac officer turned to face Lea.
"Doctor Summers, I am glad that you came to the bridge. I had wanted to speak to you about some security issues that I have come across. I was planning on going to see you but your arrival here has saved me the trip." Eva said, sounding as if she had actually been surprised to see the CMO where she was.
"But…" Lea tried to question, the woman she had seen on the screen and the one standing in front of her not being the same.
"Lt. Fairborn, if you would be so kind as to keep things running for a few minutes. I will be with Doctor Summers in the Conference Lounge." Eva said, not giving the giant piloting the ship a chance to reply in any way.
Lea had been given no other choice but to follow, thanks to Eva having taken hold of her arm. Eva dragged the CMO to the Conference Lounge with such urgency that Lea expected to find the CO or ExO dead on the table.

Lea was happily surprised when she found the table clear of any body, dying or otherwise injured. The CMO quickly scanned the room to see if something else had been the cause of this strangeness, but Lea found nothing other than a troubled looking Ens.
"I need something to settle my stomach. Actually I think it's more my nerves. I feel like I am going to be sick and pass out. With my luck it won't happen in that order either." Eva said, falling back against the conference table.
Confused as to the rapid change in the Sec/Tac's moods, Lea tilted her head. "What is going on? Are you space sick and if so why not come to Sickbay like I suggested?"
"Did you see who is on the Bridge?" Eva replied, her face taking on a sicklier shade of green. "Lt. Fairborn is not officially a member of the crew, and the Ops officer is just plain weird. So when the Captain had to step off the bridge, she gave *me* command. *ME!*"
"Cpt. Rikar placed *you* in charge of the bridge? That is wonderful, some officers have to wait years before they are given that honour." Lea said, placing her medical kit next to the sickly looking Edo/Betazoid hybrid. "I guess being anxious is normal for your first time."
"Anxiousness has nothing to do with it Doctor," Eva snapped before swallowing hard. "I am trained to stare countless unspeakable evils straight in the eyes and not flinch. And I have done so many times before thanks to my ex-husband. What this is about is my ability to be the person in charge of the *ship*. There is a reason why bridge officers have to wait years before they are put in charge. They need to get experience, something that I have only *hours* of. Not years, not months, not even weeks or days of, only *HOURS.*"
Before Eva could hyperventilate herself into a comatose state, Lea reached for a hypospray and pressed it against the hybrid's neck. "What you need to do is relax. I am sure that our CO had good reasons to do what she did. You need to trust her as he obviously trusted you. In any case Cpt. Rikar, Lt. Cmdr. Serenna, and even Lt. Cmdr. Enaii are not that far. If something should happen, they would be back on the bridge in a flash." Lea said, trying her best to help the medication she had provided along.
"Thank you Doctor," the Sec/Tac officer said, returning to her feet. It had not taken long for the medication to take effect and counter the sickly colour that had taken root on the hybrid's face.
"Tell you what, after your shift, come and see me in Sickbay. It will be just Ensigns needing to talk. No official duties, no higher ranking officers looking over our shoulders, and no expectations. We can talk about anything and everything, or share stories about our life adventures. You could tell me about that ex-husband of yours, and I could tell you about a certain time on a deserted island. Deal?" The CMO said, returning the hypospray to the case.
"If time permits, I will." Eva said with a smile glad to see that she had found a friend amongst the members of the senior staff. Within seconds the Sec/Tac officer had left the Conference Lounge to return to her duties. All that Lea had left to do was to return to Sickbay and take care of her affairs and figure out a good story to talk about. Lea did not know why she had mentioned a deserted island, but not that she had should would have to create something. Maybe Susan could be dragged into this, after all she too was an Ensign.
