Setting: USS ANUBIS, Brig

Having left the ANUBIS' avatar in relative charge of the ship, not worrying too much about what they might encounter since they had already returned to Federation space and were now calmly heading back to their base of operation at a rate that would not stress the engines or any other of their damaged systems, the Romulan/Terran hybrid had decided to check-up on their uninvited guests. Walking into the packed brig the XO could still feel the change in the ship's atmosphere, a coldness not brought upon by some sort of malfunction in the life support system but rather because several lives had been lost because of those now behind the force fields found in this room.

Losing members of a crew was an unfortunate reality of life in Starfleet and being part of a special group within that organization which dealt with the darker side of the universe, namely Intel, only meant that the Romulan/Terran hybrid and the rest of the ANUBIS' crew would have to deal with this reality more than they normally would. Knowing this had not help in anyway the XO come to terms that Lt. Cmdr. Enaii had been one of the members of this crew who had seen her career come to an abrupt and unexpected end leaving behind not only a widowed mate but an orphan child.

Feeling sorrow was not something that the XO of the ANUBIS had been known to do, and this went back to well before the Romulan/Terran hybrid had accepted a position onboard the Intel ship or even before she had taken on the role of Sec/Tac officer on the Diplomatic ship commanded by their former CO, James Simmons. Thinking about how her friend and Academy classmate normally dealt with the greater majority of situations, the First Officer could not help by feel some kind of kinship with the CEO as she walked passed many of the cells and felt a rage mounting within her.

Looking around the room the Romulan/Terran hybrid almost felt a sense of sadness in not having confined David to the brig instead of his quarters following his arrest, at least here his temper and size could have served to bring about some sort of justice for what these Cardassians had been a part of. Thinking about what such action would mean in the end though the XO sighed and saw the wisdom in the decision as this would have certainly sealed the fate of their CEO, a fate that for the time being was precariously uncertain to start with.

Stopping in front of one of the cells containing what appeared to be a group of high ranking Cardassian officers, the XO glared at the three men standing on the other side of the force field while thinking about how their ILO would have likely proceeded with any sort of interrogation. Although not sharing any true common heritage with the ANUBIS' former ILO, the Romulan/Terran hybrid had always felt a sort of familiarity towards Lt. Cmdr. Enaii, maybe because she often reminded the XO of an aspect of her paternal heritage that the hybrid all too often despised. Watching the ILO perform her usual daily routine though had in a strange way made the First Officer realize that the ideals and ways of the Intel agencies of both the Federation and of the Romulan Star Empire could be made to work as one under very specific conditions.

Turning around to look at the security guard on duty the Romulan/Terran hybrid ordered the man to leave the room and bring the two guards located near the door with him with a stern motion of her head. Not willing to question the reasoning of the ship's XO did as they were ordered leaving the women alone in the brig with over two dozen Cardassian prisoners held captive behind the level 10 force fields that had been set into place.

Reaching for her sidearm the XO glared once again at the three high-ranking officers before moving backwards towards the control console and deactivating the force field that stood between her and the prisoners. Looking rather shocked by the action, all three Cardassians waited to see why the Romulan looking woman had acted as she had, thinking for a brief moment that maybe she had been in league with T'Preel and that their rescue had been at hand. Seeing the phaser being pointed directly at them that thought quickly changed to the possibility that the pointed-ear Starfleet officer could in fact be an undercover agent of the Tal'Shiar sent to this ship to execute some sort of revenge.

Stepping forward and seeing a glimmer of fear appear in the eyes of the three Cardassian despite the reality that the Romulan/Terran hybrid had not been the person that they had thought her to be, the XO singled out one of the three men and ordered him to step out into the main area using the hand-held weapon. Unsure as to what this was all about the Cardassian followed the directions he had been given and jumped as the force field reactivated behind him without any sort of previous warning. Looking into the eyes of the Lt. Commander the Cardassian dismissed the thought that the woman could have been a member of the Tal'Shiar, although she did seem to have a certain air about her that was reminiscing of the Romulan Intel Agency.

Moving closer to the Cardassian while insuring that her weapon remained between them at all times, the Romulan/Terran hybrid announced the reason for her actions, speaking for the first time since her arrival into the room. Although not possessing the experience of an Intel field operative the XO had studied the methods of the Tal'Shiar enough to know who Romulans conducted interrogations, and having seen Enaii at work had provided the hybrid with an additional insight that she planned on using at this time. "Talk!"

Feeling as if he had been ordered to speak like a vile dog, the Cardassian was reluctant to take the woman seriously, an error in judgement that proved to be quickly remedied when the Romulan/Terran hybrid summoned her expertise as a former Sec/Tac officer which sent the prisoner down to his knees following two expertly placed blows to the lower jaw and abdomen. Looking down at the gasping Cardassian, the XO could not help but compare her tactics to those she hoped would have been selected or at least endorsed by their former ILO. "Talk or die."

Realizing that his options had been few, the Cardassian decided to act but not as the woman standing over him had expected him to. Jumping back to his feet the man shoved the Romulan/Terran hybrid back against the control console and immediately dashed for the door afterwards. Without any guards standing at the door the prisoner found it easy to reach the corridor to the XO great horror thinking only now that dismissing the security officers had been a very grave error. Hoping to catch up with the Cardassian before he could do any serious damage to the ship, the hybrid wasted no time to go after him.

Setting: USS ANUBIS, Corridor

Running out into the corridor the Romulan/Terran hybrid was glad to find the escapee on the floor rolled up in a ball at the feet of a giant that the XO instinctively thought to have been the Oltharian due to the size of the officer. Looking up at the giant's face the hybrid realized that she had made a second mistake and that the towering officer had not been the Oltharian but a Naussicaan. Snarling at the approaching Lt. Commander, Nicodemus spoke as the woman reached down to secure the prisoner. "You might want to be a little more careful in the future."

Briefly looking up at the giant the XO thought about thanking him for having saved both her and the ship a possibly embarrassing situation but due to her personal history with another member of the race the Ensign belonged to the Romulan/Terran hybrid found it impossible for her to say anything, growling back at him instead.
