Stardate: 60326.1730
Setting: NEW ALEXANDRIA: Section A, Level 9 (RESTRICTED AREA) aka SANTUARY

The young woman sat on the bar stool thinking back to the last couple of hours or so that she had spent in this 'sanctuary' that her former CO had brought her to. The first hour had been spent crying… until her eyes had run dry and the redheaded woman could cry no more. The second hour had been spent in a much calmer setting of Rikar's own creation following James' departure.

Simmons had not wanted to leave the young woman alone but his experience had long taught him that time was the best healer of sorrows and that such healing was best done by one's self… so after having made sure that his former ExO would be alright James discontinued the programs that he had created and left Rikar to her solitude and therapy.

At first the CO of the ANUBIS had done nothing more than to look at the endless darkness that surrounded her from all sides… feeling it embrace and consume her soul. In time thought the young woman realised that nothing good would come of this and decided to fill the void that she had found herself in the midst of.

At first Rikar had not been sure what to summon… the holographic possibilities having been truly endless. The idea of calling forth an image of her wife had not taken long to implant itself into her mind but that thought was quickly dismissed as it would have been too unsettling to the young woman certain that she would not be able to handle *seeing* her wife after knowing what had happened to her. As Sabrina scrutinized the darkness around her she remembered a particular place that had been a source of great strength for her during a time when life itself had lost all meaning… so the first thing to shatter the complete darkness and to appearing in the room was a simple bolder.

From this inanimate object the CO of the ANUBIS began to form a world where she would be able to escape to whenever the situation would call for it… a place where she would be able to forget about everything. After the bolder that had first been created came a beach of golden sand with a steep rocky cliff on one side and an endless blue ocean extending on the other. The waves, like the soft ocean breeze and the cool fragrance that filled the air caressed her senses making the young woman remember a time when she actually remembered *nothing*.

As strange as it had seemed, that had been one of the best time in the young woman's life… a time when her mind had sought something to hang on to while her body slowly succumbed to the coldness of space. From this strange imaginary place the persona of 'Samantha' had emerged and from her the young woman had relearned how to appreciate life and cherish the life that she had been given the chance to live. All that Sabrina could do at this point was to hope that the same lessons could be learned once again and that she would be able to return to *her* life as she had once done, accepting those things that had changed as being what her life now was.

As she sat on the warm sand with her back against the large rock the young woman gazed at the distant horizon where the sapphire sky met with the azure ocean inviting Rikar to leg go of the pass and venture into the future. As Sabrina stood up she was greeted by a being that she had requested from the simulation, a man dressed in a black suit whom she had never before met but someone whom she felt she had known all of her life. The CO of the ANUBIS had left the computer with the task of working out the specific details of the being but strangely enough it had perfectly achieved what she had wanted… or at least what she could remember of the man whom she had only seen in her dreams.

"Who are you?" The mysterious man inquired, his voice carrying a unimaginable wisdom that seemed to stretch beyond the confines of time itself.

"I am Sabrina Rikar… captain of the USS ANUBIS… mother of Talia Draxx… and protector of the dreams and hopes her mother and I shared." The young woman declared with complete confidence… a fact that she clearly recalled not having been able to do the many times she had met this strange man before.

The hologram simply smiled and vanished allowing the young woman to return to reality and her life… something that she believed herself ready to do… or at least try for the sake of those people whom she considered to be her family.

Stardate: 60326.1800
Setting: USS ANUBIS, CO's Quarters

The young woman entered the main living area and found her daughter dressed in her finest clothes with the quarters around her as clean as could be. Without saying a word the redheaded woman kneeled down and opened her arms inviting Talia in for a hug which the young girl immediately shared with her adoptive mother.

"Counsellor Clora invite us for to eat." Talia announced letting the strength of her embrace voice her gladness at seeing the return of her adoptive mother.

"I know… I got the message the moment I came out… of my meeting." The redheaded woman explained clearly remembering that no one could be made aware of the existence of these 'Sanctuary'… not that the young woman had been in a habit of keeping anything from Talia, but there was no reason to complicate the young girl's life anymore than it had already been.

"I clean Bina mess." Talia offered as if asking for forgiveness for having bitten her adoptive mother.

"I noticed… and I thank you… I don't know what I would do without you… you are truly an angel." Sabrina said giving her daughter one last long hug before releasing the young girl and returning to her feet.

"Nan'ha say I 'no angel'." Talia corrected as she walked away clearly showing to her adoptive mother that she believed that her biological mother would one day soon walk through the same doors Sabrina had just stepped through.

The young woman's first reaction had been to explain to Talia that Enaii would not be returning… that she had died… but the redheaded woman reconsidered and instead headed for the master bedroom where she would get changed before heading out for supper with her daughter. There would be plenty of time for Sabrina to explain the reality of life to her daughter… but now was not the time. Tonight they would go for supper with Clora and James, then return and get some rest before heading to the preliminary hearing which would decide on the fate of the ANUBIS' CEO and the entity that resided within him.
