"The Fun Never Ends"

Stardate: 60326.1915
The Hirogen had followed the Nausicaan from a distance, making sure that they arrived where they were going and to increase the odds that they would not be seen by anyone else on the crew by providing a sizeable blockage behind them.
When Nico came out of the Counselor's quarters, Uxtar approached his friend and asked in a concerned voice, "is she all right?"
"She is fine," the Sec/Tac replied, still finding it odd that Ensign Mei's quarters had not been empty. "There is someone there who will make sure that she recuperates from the evening," Nico added, sharing a look of puzzlement with the VIPER Pilot.
"That is strange," Uxtar noted as his brows gathered, "I do not recall her mentioning that she was living with anyone. At least not during that first hour," the Hirogen grinned thinking that most of what Ensign Mei had said in the last hour had not made much sense anyway.
Nodding his head the Chief of Security agreed, "I do not understand it either, but I intend to figure it out, one way or another."
Moving past the Hirogen like a warrior on a mission, the Nausicaan said nothing but Uxtar figured it best to follow the Sec/Tac officer if only to see the outcome of this first hand. **No doubt about it, he's the perfect 'man' for the job,** the VIPER Pilot thought pitying anyone who would find themselves on the wrong side of the new Chief of Security.

It had not taken long for Nico to find the personnel information on Lindsey Donavan, but the Nausicaan had not been able to find anything that could have explained why the woman had been in the Counselor's quarters. Something was missing and the Sec/Tac had been no closer to finding it despite the help and encouragement of his Hirogen friend.
"Maybe she was just that, a concerned friend," Uxtar suggested.
"Maybe so, but that still doesn't account as to why she would have been granted access to Ensign Mei's quarters. Being friends is one thing, but allowing someone into your quarters does imply there to be more," Nico said while scratching his chin.
The Hirogen had been ready to comment when a flashing light on the security board made both Nico and Uxtar jump. With a few tap of the controls the Sec/Tac called up on the monitors the reason for the alarm. "Why do I have the feeling that things have just gotten a whole lot more difficult for *everyone*?"
Uxtar glanced at his friend and looked at the security monitor before looking at the Nausicaan once again. "Let me guess, this has to do with Lt. Dawson?"
"Yes," Nico answered adding a deep low growl, not because of who this was about but because of what he feared the impact would be on his new ship. "We are going to have a court-martial and I can only guess as to how this will split the staff leaving *us* dead in the middle."
"It may not be a good place to be," the Hirogen nodded, "but I can't think of anyone better suited than you and me to be in that position."
"I guess time will tell, but either way it is bound to be fun."
