Setting: USS ANUBIS, 'The Black Hole' crew Lounge
Stardate: 60328.1835

Lea pondered over the half dozen PADDs that lay on the table before her. This had been meant as her last meal onboard the ANUBIS. Tomorrow morning the CMO would board the HATHOR and remain there until their mission was over. The ship had not been schedule to depart for another couple of days, but Lea wanted to get used to it. The more Lea thought about taking on the role of COO, the more she pictured herself running away. By staying onboard the HATHOR Lea would get acclimated to the ship. The best part was that if she should suffer from a panic attack, the base would not be light-years away.

"Looks like there is a Medical Convention happening soon," Susan teased as she joined Lea at the table. The Cns knew that the PADDs had nothing to do with anything pertaining to the field of medicine. Knowing that though did not stop Susan from bugging her friend about her assignment as COO.

"Why don't you go back to your quarters and play with Lindsey," Lea teased back.

"OUCH! That was below the belt," Susan said with a half grin.

"Sorry," the CMO said pushing the half dozen PADDs away from her. "These dual responsibilities are driving me batty. I'm a Doctor for crying out loud, not a bridge officer."

"Would you have rather been assigned to help in engineering?" Susan teased again. What the Cns found interesting though was that Lea actually seemed to give that last idea some serious thought.

"I just think it would be safer for everyone if I stayed in Sickbay," Lea said with a chuckle. "That is if you call that room on the HATHOR a Sickbay. My quarters on the ANUBIS are bigger than that room."

"You may be having some trouble with the dual responsibilities," Susan said, "but it looks like Maya is doing pretty good." Lea followed the gaze of her friend to see the CSciO walking into the lounge with Pravat, Uxtar and Nico. Maya seemed to be out of place in the middle of the three warriors. Yet the CSciO was smiling and apparently enjoying herself.

"Maybe she was just dragged in here by the three of them," Lea said. Seeing Maya and Pravat together had not been a surprise. Seeing the two of them escorted by the Nausicaan and Hirogen was something rather unique.

"Nope," Susan grinned. "Looks like they are all together, and ready for a pleasant meal," the Cns said. Judging by the smile of Maya's lips the Shillian did not have a care in the world. That or she was hiding them well, or at least had been made to forget about them for a little while.

"Maybe so," Lea said forcing a lump down her throat. "But I have the feeling that our meal is about to take a turn for the worse," the CMO added pointing to the approaching figure of the ExO.

"How are you Commander?" Susan asked, welcoming Serenna to their table.

Looking down at the Cns, the Romulan/Terran hybrid wasted no time and moved ahead with the reason that had brought her here at this time. "I am well counsellor. If it is not too much trouble, I would like to have a word with Ens. Summers."

Having been made to understand that her presence had not been required, the Cns stood from her chair and glanced at the table where the CSciO, MCO, Sec/Tac and VIPER Pilot were sitting before returning her gaze onto the nervous looking CMO. "I'll just check up on the rest of the crew."

Begging for Susan not to leave with her eyes, Ens. Summers abandoned herself to the reality that she was not alone with the HATHOR's CO and that things did not seem to look well for the CMO. Trying her best to keep her nervousness in check, the CMO looked up at the still standing Romulan/Terran hybrid. "What can I do for you Commander?"

Glancing at the PADD that she had brought along with her, the XO explained the reason for her visit. "I, as CO of the HATHOR, have received word from Admiral Koniki that we will be taking on at least one new officer. Since our next mission is meant to be a test of several aspects of the dynamics of the ANUBIS' senior staff, I was asked to incorporate this new officer onboard the HATHOR. Therefore Doctor your services as COO will no longer be required as the position will be taken charge of by this new officer."

Lea had been ready to leap out of her chair and kiss Serenna. True, the CMO had begun to get use to the idea of being the COO for the HATHOR. This though did not mean that Lea had *wanted* the position. Whoever this new officer was, the ANUBIS' CMO already liked him. If Lea could have she would have bestowed a medal to this new Ensign the moment she would see him. But since she couldn't, the CMO would be satisfied with not having to take on the responsibilities of COO.
