Setting: USS ANUBIS, Corridor outside Sickbay
Stardate: 60329.0745

Singing filled the air as Lea skipped down the corridor. The only thing the CMO had been missing was a flowery dress to match her mood. Since both Susan and Lea were the type to get to work early, it had not been a surprise for them to run into each other. The bubbly mood of Lea though was more than enough to surprise her friend.

"Good morning Susan," lea said while dancing around her friend like a possessed forest nymph. "How are you on this wonderful day?"

"Fine," the Cns replied glaring at the CMO as she bounced around her, "and a little concerned. I thought that our drinks did not have any real alcohol in them last night."

"They didn't," Lea replied, coming to a dead stop after one last bounce. "I am just in a happy mood today. The sun is shinning and the birds are singing, life is as good as it gets."

"Now I know that there is something wrong with you," Susan said crossing her arms over her chest. If the Cns could have appeared any more serious, the walls would have broken down around them. "We are in space in the middle of nowhere on a starship hidden inside a secret base that technically does not even exist. So how can you claim that, and I quote, 'the sun is shinning? And don't get me started on that 'and the birds are singing' bit."

"Come on Susan," Lea said taking her friend by the arm as they entered Sickbay. "Don't be so literal. Last night, after I was so nicely escorted back to my quarters, it dawned on to me. David is a free man with no court-martial hanging over his head. Also, I am no longer assigned as the Ops officer for the HATHOR. And I am surrounded by friends who can drop being officers for a few hours to have fun. True last night might have been a little more fun than Maya could have cared for, but so what. Things happen and we continue on our merry way."

Susan blinked several times before reaching up for Lea's forehead to see if she had a temperature. The method of testing had been old-fashioned but it still worked well. Unfortunately Susan found no immediate indication that something had not been right with the CMO.

"I agree with you that all of that is good," Susan said, "but I don't think it warrants you acting like this."

"Why not?" Lea asked. "Our next mission is a shakedown cruise, a once around the block to test the systems of the HATHOR. There won't be any lunatic Cardassians or Romulans trying to conquer the universe. We won't have to go to a frozen ice world or a planet with nothing but sand for as far as the eyes can see. The best part is that this mission has nothing to do with Intel, at least not directly. The next mission is going to be a breeze," Lea said taking the report PADD from the nurse who had come to join them.

Susan grinned. After the talk she had with the CEO the night before, it had been nice to see someone truly happy. That is even if Lea was a little over doing it.

"So little Miss Sunshine," the Cns said teasingly, "what do you have plan for the day?"

"None of the maintenance personnel suffered any major injuries from last night's little incident," Lea said reading the PADD in her hand. "So I thought I would go and check on my number one patient."

"You do know that Nico has asked for us all to report for breakfast?" Susan asked. Given the way the CMO had been bouncing around, it would not have surprised Susan that lea had missed the message.

"I know," Lea said. "So what harm is there for me to go and check up on David first. I might even be able to wrestle him to the ground and convince him to come and join us for breakfast."

Susan laughed. The image of the little CMO forcing the giant CEO to the ground with some weird wrestling move had been too much. "Maybe you should try another approach," the Cns said. "I don't think physical persuasion is quite up your line of work."

Lea pondered her friend's words for a few moments. "You're right; maybe I should just make it a medical order. After all he is my patient and insuring that he has a healthy breakfast could be considered as part of his treatment."

"I have a few things to do in my office," Susan said. "So I'll meet you guys at the 'Black Hole' Lounge for 0830, that is when Nico said we should all meet."

"I'll be there," Lea said returning to her bouncing ways. 'I just hope that Pravat will be able to make it there. He seemed a little lost last night. Enaran physiology is quite different from that of Hirogens and Nausicaans."

"Yup," Susan agreed. "And I am sure thathe is perfectly aware of that fact this morning," the Cns added with a chuckle. "Should prove to be an interesting morning."
