Setting: USS ANUBIS, Sickbay
Stardate: 60340.1730

Liz was in Sickbay finishing treating the burns of Crewman Ednie when Elan walked in. The Oltharian seemed concerned for the well being of his engineer.

"Healer, how is he?" Elan's question was filled with compassion. It had almost sounded as if the giant had been related to the man.

Liz who had not treated anyone in weeks hesitated. She had done her best to help Crewman Ednie but the aCMO had wanted to be certain. This was her first medical emergency onboard the ANUBIS. **I hope that I made good use of this practical experience.**

Halliwell nodded as she picked up her tricorder and gave the crewman another medical once over. "He'll be fine, I took extra care to repair any damaged ligament and muscle tissue. There should not be any after effects of the burns."

Elan helped the other engineer off the biobed. Gratitude and relief beamed from the giant's face.

The ANUBIS' Doctor smiled, glad to see that all of her hard work had been appreciated.

After Ens. Halliwell had put the tricorder away she said, "I would like for him to take it easy for a few days, just in case. The muscles may be a little tender for a while."

"Thank you Doctor." Ednie said testing the arm which had been the more severely burnt.

"Yes, thank you Healer." Elan said taking a bow.

The flattered doctor blushed as the two men left Sickbay.

She got a comlink open with the USS HATHOR to have a conversation with Lea.

First it was a bit vague but fortunately it started to clear up.

"Hello? Lea are you there?" Doctor Halliwell asked.

[/\] Yeah, I'm here, [/\] Lea responded, her face having appeared on the view screen. [/\] How is the Sickbay over there?[/\] Doctor Summers snarled. Apparently Lea had not been happy to be away from *her* Sickbay.

"It's roomy." Liz carefully said trying not to make her jealous.

[/\] So why have you 'called'? [/\] Lea asked sounding normal again.

"I thought I'd just fill you in about the medical aspect of the mission if you'd like." The ANUBIS' CMO responded.

[/\] I know what I need to know, although I am a bit concerned." Doctor Summers snapped. Normally Lea would not have been this testy, but the stress of their mission had slowly gotten to her. Unfortunately for Liz, the aCMO had been elected to be on the receiving end of Lea's current bad disposition.

"What concerns?" Liz asked, wondering if she had done something wrong.

[/\] Lt. Cmdr. Maya sent some files over about what will be required once we reach SURIAL III, [/\] Lea explained. [/\] Apparently she is considering using the HATHOR as a transporter relay. [/\]

"What is wrong with that?" The aCMO wondered out loud. As far as Liz could tell that had been a very good idea, one that would likely allow the ANUBIS to use its transporters all the way around the planet.

[/\] Using the HATHOR to help the transporters reach all of the planet is not the issue. Recombining a person who has been in a state of disconnected atoms and energy is. You cannot be seriously thinking of doing that? [/\] Doctor Summers snapped. It was clear that the CMO did not endorse the idea suggested by the CSciO of the ANUBIS. As much as Maya and Lea had been good coworkers, the CMO could not bring herself to see this plan working.

"I was hoping that you would help," Liz said looking slightly disappointed. "You are the senior Medical Officer, and I know that I could use your expertise on this. I have my reservations about the success of this plan, but I am not going to just say that it can't be done. If Captain wants to try, I thought it best to go along and do our best. Who knows, we might just get lucky."

[/\] Fine, [/\] Lea huffed. [/\] But I will not be the one who cleans up the mess when this thing goes south. [/\] And then the screen went dead, the HATHOR's CMO having ended the comlink.

**By the end of this mission I might have done a lot more than treat some burns. I might have truly and completely ticked my immediate superior off,** the ACMO thought, sighing in disappointment.
