Setting: USS HATHOR, Bridge
The HATHOR was traveling at warp 8.8 with a little
under twelve hours before they arrive at SURIAL III.
David had just received a report from the aCEO Ken
Yates who assured that the engines were in perfect
working order. David was seated in the COs chair when
Serenna exited the ready room.
"I take it no changes number one?" the HATHOR's CO asked.
"None Captain," David said rising from the command chair. Serenna sat and looked at the screen. Beta shift was on the bridge giving the senior staff some rest. Serenna nodded for David to join her in the ready room.
"Ensign Merriweather, mind the store for us." David
said as the aFCO nodded. Once inside the ready room,
Serenna sat and looked at her XO.
"What do you think of the Imperians David?"
"Until we have sufficent information on them I'm as baffled as you Captain."
"Do you think they could represent a threat to the Federation?"
"Of course," David replied, "but as long as their focus are the Cardassians then I'm satisfied."
Serenna slowly nodded as she noticed the flare in David's right eye.
"This is off the record, but that last comment
wouldn't be biased would it?"
David eyed his CO. **Another chess game,** David thought before replying. "Honestly, yes. Look at the trouble they've caused. The war with the Dominion over 80 years ago... and they're rogue attitude to *everything*. To me... they're nothing more than petty thugs like the Orions used to be."
Serenna's eyebrow went up her forehead. "Do you..."
=/\= Captain, sorry to interupt but I think you might want to see this, =/\= Ensign Merriweather broke in and said.
David turned and waited for Serenna to exit first. Back on the bridge she took the command chair. "Report."
"Long range sensors picked this up," Chief Wayne said from the tactical.
"Enhance magnification," David said and as the image
got bigger the XO/CEO went to the ops station.
"Looks like a probe Captain," David said.
"And its on an intercept course with the ANUBIS."
Ensign Arroyo said from ops.
"How is that possible?" David said outloud, "isn't she
protected with the Ablative Armour?"
"Don't know how or if its actually, but at current
speed it will collide with the ANUBIS in 5 hours."
"Have you been able to detect who sent it?" Serenna
asked.
"No ma'am" Arroyo replied.
"Relay the information to the ANUBIS" Serenna ordered.

"Captain Rikar, incoming message from the HATHOR. Its
Lieutenant Dawson." Annie, the ANUBIS' avatar said
from Ops.
"Patch him through," Sabrina said from her command
chair. David's image appeared.
"What can I do for you Lieutenant?" Sabrina asked.
[/\] Captain, I'm sending you some new information, [/\]
he said. Annie nodded.
"Imformation received" and she split the screen with
the image of the probe on the left and David on the
right.
"What is it?" Sabrina asked.
[/\] A probe. Unknown origin on an intercept course
with the ANUBIS. [/\]
"Could it be a sensor glitch David?" Maya asked.
[/\] No... we confirmed it. Its 5 hours ahead
of us, [/\] the HATHOR XO replied.
"Suggestions?" Sabrina asked.
[/\] Captain... what is your current state on
repair? [/\] David asked.
"Elan is working on getting us more speed. It might
interfere with the ablative armour but he assures me
he'll have it figured out before we arrive."
[/\] Nothing more than warp 5 I take it? [/\] David
asked and Sabrina smiled.
"Pretty good for an executive officer" she said.
[/\] I'm an engineer first Captain, [/\] the HATHOR XO/CEO
replied.
[/\] Captain... we'll increase speed to see if we could
head it off, [/\] Serenna said.
"Be careful numb..." and Sabrina paused, "*Captain*
Serenna."
[/\] HATHOR out, [/\] the Romulan/Terran hybrid said with a nod and the image returned to the ANUBIS passing the stars at warp.
