Setting: USS ANUBIS, Corridor
Walking towards the nearest transporter room, the
Romulan/Terran hybrid had slowed her pace to give her
time to think about what had happened and what would
come to pass in the next days or so. Having encounter
the Imperian probe had been both a curse and blessing
providing the chance for them to gather information on
the race but at the cost of seeing their primary
objective pushed back by several hours.
Knowing that David and Elan were working on restoring
the HATHOR's cloaking device had been only but a small
source of relief for the Romulan/Terran hybrid who
could only guess as to what chaos raged on a few days'
travel away. Facing extinction at the hands of these
Imperian, the HATHOR's CO knew that the Cardassian
were putting up a valiant effort, but was this
sufficient. Possessing next to no information on the
race, aside from their loathing for all living things,
had placed everyone at a disadvantage which the hybrid
could only hope would be fixed by whatever data would
be gathered from the captured probe.
Suspecting that her XO had still been working on the
cloaking device since she had not heard from him, the
Romulan/Terran hybrid decided to join the Shillian and
Enaran in their investigation of the probe. Thinking
that by now the ANUBIS' XO and CSciO had likely
already found something of interest, the
Romulan/Terran hybrid hastened her pace back to her
usual speed.
Having made her way to the ANUBIS' lower deck, the
Romulan/Terran hybrid had stepped out of the turbolift
just in time to see a group of Marines rushing down
the corridor ahead of her. Running as fast as they
could the Marines led by Lt. Tes'Karka vanished
through one of the large cargo bay doors found on this
deck.
Recalling the ship's layout the HATHOR's CO figured
out, at least in the general sense, what had happened;
the Enaran and Shillian had discovered something
unexpected. Responding as both a former Sec/Tac
officer and a shipmate, the Romulan/Terran hybrid
rushed in after the Marines to render whatever
assistance she could.

Standing in the open doorway of the cargo bay the
Romulan/Terran hybrid could only watch is horror at
the sight that had unfolded within the room. Holding
onto the neck of the Enaran man with an ease which
cold have only been described as inhuman, the ebony
coloured mechanical monster had apparently resisted
all of the attacks unleashed by the Marines.
Wanting to help had unfortunately not provided the
Romulan/Terran hybrid with neither the means nor the
method to come to the Marine's assistance leaving her
to be as helpless as those who had the equipment and
training to help.
Having searched the cargo bay and noticed the
Shillian a few feet away, the HATHOR's CO thought it
best to bring the Shillian out of harms way while
there was still time thinking that the unstoppable
creature they had discovered could have been only one
thing; an Imperian.
Reaching the CSciO just as the Shillian had thrown a
bottle of some kind towards the immense robot, the
Romulan/Terran stopped dead in her tracks as she
watched the ebony monster begin to jerk about in a
shower of sparks. Watching the Imperian fall to the
ground having apparently *short-circuited* the
HATHOR's CO inwardly grinned at this unexpected turn
of events before turning her attention to the downed
Marine and the woman by his side.
After having supervised the removal of the injured
Enaran Marine the Romulan/Terran hybrid turned her
fullest attention to the still twitching robot, the
CSciO having left the Cargo Bay to be with Pravat.
Investigating the Imperian should have been the
Shillian's top priority but the hybrid had not thought
it to be her place to point this out to the distraught
woman as she had left the room.
Looking at the robot laying at her feet, the
Romulan/Terran hybrid could hardly believe that
something as sophisticated and obviously powerful as
this creature had been brought down by something as
simple as water. Not downplaying the significance of
this discovery, the Intel trained officer had still
not been entirely ready to accept this as fact, not
able to accept that a race of mechanical beings would
have failed to protect themselves against such a basic
element.
Running into the cargo bay and making their way past
the Marines who had remained behind to insure that the
mechanical beast did not cause any further trouble,
the SEC/TAC and COO joined their CO by the
occasionally twitching machine. Speaking first, the
Hirogen informed the Romulan/Terran hybrid as to the
reason for their presence, "We came as soon as we
heard what had happened. We thought that you might
need some help, but obviously we were mistaken."
Kicking the arm of the machine laying on the floor,
Ens. Kea had been much more curious in his response to
the creature than the HATHOR's CO might have expected
from the half Vulcan. "Those things are *huge*! Are
we sure that it's dead?"
Glancing at the COO before returning her attention to
the Imperian, the Romulan/Terran hybrid shook her
head. "Depending on your definition of *life*, that
things was never alive to start with, but if you mean
*inactive*, we can only hope so."
Appearing a little puzzled by the reply from his CO,
the COO looked upon the hybrid in a quizzical manner
wondering if this had been her way of easing the
tension of the situation as well as the awkwardness
between them.
Kneeling next to the motionless mechanical beast,
Ens. Kea carefully examined the makings on the being's
ebony armour. "It looks like it short-circuited, what
did the marines hit it with? An E-M pulse?"
Looking at the shattered bottle laying next to the
Imperian, the Romulan/Terran hybrid could not help but
chuckle ever so lightly as she thought of her reply
before it crossed her list. "Water. It was downed by
a bottle of water."
