Stardate: Eternity
Setting: Death

She was at peace now, memories of the child and lover left behind drifted past, she let them flow by. She felt no desire here, in this vast oneness, she felt no pain. She remembered unhappiness, but could not bring to mind what it felt like to experience. She had not done all she had hoped, yet she still felt this immense satisfaction, as though her life were complete. She was ready to go, ready to embrace what lay ahead without fear, without doubt. She was dead, but death was only the beginning. She felt the Universe open up to her, she could glide through the boundaries of the unknown, dance among the stars, play on the shores of planets yet to be discovered by life in any form. She could watch the birth of a sun, understand the freedom of the wind as it sings through the braches of falling trees. She could ride the wings of the falcon, explore the depths of the deepest ocean, experience the beginning of life in a distant primeval pool, flow through a blackhole and into whatever lay beyond. She needed nothing, not even her child or mate, they would be here soon enough, and she could wait. After all, what was time to her now? She would be here when they passed, and she would take them to the places she had seen, and it would be as though they had never been apart, and they would never again be parted.

Setting: Unknown Craft

Malak sat in his small craft, orbiting the planet that had claimed the life of his niece. He sat. Head down, he held his hands over his cheeks as he felt the moisture of his tears slide down his palms. He could hear himself sob, one possible future, he had embraced it like fact, and it had slipped beyond his grasp.

They had been delayed, in almost every Universe Sabrina had evacuated the survivors and ordered them to leave the HATHOR to it's fate, but not in this one. In this one she stayed and fought, and by doing so allowed Enaii to slip into a place where he could no longer reach her. A place he did not understand, a place he would never be allowed to enter.

And now, in the only Universe that mattered, the one that held all the others together, the anchor Universe, She was gone. It wasn't fair, it wasn't right. This was not the way it should have been, the odds had been against them, but She defied logic. She should have lived.

Not wanting to remain in this place, Malak blinked and was no more. No craft circled the stormy planet, no glorious explosions to see him off. In one second he had been there, and in the next he never was.

Setting: USS ANUBIS - IGC

Talia sat over the Intelligence Console, searching massive amounts of data for any sign of her mother. She had long ago exhausted the USS ANUBIS, USS HATHOR and NEW ALEXANDRIA as possibilities. She now searched random planets, listened to their news, read their tabloids, examined their obituaries for signs of a kill her parent may have made. Nothing jumped out at her, and the atmosphere in the ship, the attitudes of the people around her were beginning to make her doubt. Why couldn't they have the faith she did? Why didn't they understand? Was she wrong? If she gave up, would her mother be gone forever?

Wiping her nose on her sleeve and hopping off the stool, the small child retreated into her mother's office and curled up in a ball on her chair. She was safe here, not even Bina could disturb her here. Closing her eyes she remembered the last time she had been in this office, how her mother had hugged her and how she had fallen asleep in her mother's lap as she worked. She wished it was like that now.

"Nan'ha," the child whispered as tears choked her throat and stung her eyes, "Please come home."

Wherever you go
Whatever you do
I will be right here waiting for you
Whatever it takes
Or how my heart breaks
I will be right here waiting for you
