Setting: USS HATHOR, Sickbay
Stardate: 60342.0835

While the boys were playing with their toys the girls had meet in Sickbay to chat. True the CO had biologically belonged to the second group, but her sense humour had branded her an honorary member of the first. So while David, Uxtar and Derek were scanning anything and everything around SURIAL III, Lea and Susan chatted.

"What do you mean *it's hard to explain*?" Lea huffed at her best friend. "You are a Cns, being able to put thoughts into words should be easy for you."

The CMO had been correct; Susan had always found it easy to put feelings and emotions into words. That at least had been true for the feelings and emotions of other people. Describing what the Cns had experienced with the HATHOR's FCO had been an entirely different story.

What made matters more complicated had been Susan's own feelings about the experience. Yes she and Lea were friends, very good friends for that matter, but that had not been enough. What Susan had experienced with Derek had been something special. Although had not said that what they had shared had been private, the Cns felt reluctant to divulge any of the details. Even to her friend Lea.

"I've told you everything about David," Lea said trying to use some leverage against her friend. The CMO hated to do something like that but her curiosity had been too much to hold back.

"Actually," Susan grinned, "you told me very little about him. I figured it out on my own by using all of the clues you two left behind. Clues that I might add neither one of you even tried to hide."

Lea stood in the middle of Sickbay, her mouth wide open in shock. She could recall if what Susan had said had been true, but just the fact that Susan had said this had floored the CMO. Regardless if it had been true, how could her best friend find an excuse not to talk about what had happened? Had Derek and Susan done so little that the Cns had thought it best not to give any details? Or maybe it had been the opposite and the two of them had done more than Lea could fathom. Either way the CMO's curiosity had become more than she or anyone else could contain.

The CMO spun around and stormed out into the corridor with her friend only seconds behind her. Thanks to the HATHOR's small size it had not taken all that much for Susan to catch up with Lea. "Where are you going?"

"I'm going to the bridge and ask Derek what happened," Lea said through clenched teeth. "Maybe *he'll* be nice enough to tell me what happened."

"Lea," Susan said calmly, having instinctively fallen back into her counselling mode. "Think this through, even if only for a second. We are right now orbiting SURIAL III. Derek and the others are on the bridge trying to help the ANUBIS in retrieving Enaii. You and I can both imagine the level of stress that everyone up there in under. Now you are planning on walking in and tackling Derek with your questions. Let's forget about him or his reaction and think about how the others would see this. Uxtar might think that you have lost it and have become a danger to the crew. I for one would not want to be on the receiving end of his tackle."

Lea looked as if Susan's words had effectively drained her of her will to storm onto the bridge. Never the less though the Cns had no intentions of dropping the matter at this time, just to be on the safe side.

After having given her friend some time to take in what had been said, Susan continued. "How would David react to you being so demanding of Derek? I don't know him well enough to say for sure, but he might just wonder as to why you are so inquisitive of him. In the end he might even get jealous and that would jeopardise your relationship with him." Susan's stone face expression expertly hid her belief that David would not react as she had said. After what the CEO had endured his character had changed drastically and Susan doubted that he would react in this manner. Using the unlikely possibility though had just made the Cns' point that much more powerful.

"You are right," Lea said looking as if she had received 40 lashes from a whip. "You also don't have to point out to me what Serenna would likely do if I had done as I had wanted."

"My guess is that you would have been sent walking home," Susan grinned.

"Without an EV suit," Lea added with a chuckle. "Come, let's go to the bridge and see what they are all doing. I promise to behave," the CMO concluded with as she wrapped her arm around that of her friend.
