The Cargo Bay Ens. Hogg had been brought to at gun point had been the closest this ship had to a brig, Cardassian freighters never having been designed with holding prisoners for any period of time. Still, being locked in a small room with countless plates of Cardassian hull shielding had been unsettling for the Federation woman who had no idea what had triggered this to happen.
"Those damn Cardassians," she thought to herself, "Ah hae bein on this stupid vessel fur three years an' Ah hae bein nothing but nice. Why didnae they trust me?"
Similar questions were running through her head. She was still trying
to put together a reason why they through her in the Cargo Bay.

The bridge had once been alive with activity, but now the only thing
*alive* had been the Imperian droid standing over the broken bodies of those it had found on this deck. The cleansing of the this part of the ship had been
accomplished without any difficulties and now the robotic conqueror could regroup with the others to insure that the rest of the ship that they had come across had also been rid of the infestation of biological life they had found on it.
The sound of metal on metal filled the still air as the Imperian droid
walked off the bridge never once looking back at what it had done confident
that his task had been accomplished to the best of its devastating abilities.
The robot sought no glory or praises for what it had accomplish as it left the
lifeless bodies where they had fallen, this would be the legacy the Imperians
would bestow upon this part of the galaxy; a new world where machines could
go about their business without the hindrance of biological life.

At first Logan heard what had sounded like a battle of some sort. the
Federation Medical Officer had been unable to figure out if the battle had been on or off the freighter but now that inquiry no longer mattered as silence had claimed the Cardassian vessel. Cautiously Ens. Hogg approached the door which had sealed her in this room hoping that she might be able to open it and see what had happened. Whatever Captain Massar might have thought about her, Logan had still been a medical officer and it had been her duty and responsibility to assist if there had been a need to do so. regardless if the Cardassians had wanted her or not.
Slowly, nervously, Logan reached for the control panel to the door her
mind racing with visions of horror. The ensign might not have been able to
ascertain where the battle had raged but she knew that the absolute silence which had followed could not be good.
Before her fingers could reach the control panel the Medical Officer's
blood froze in her veins as she heard the sound of footsteps growing louder.
There had been something strange about these footsteps. not in their presence but rather in the way they sounded; artificial; metallic; lifeless. For a moment Logan debated about resuming her efforts to reach the corridor but as the sound of the heavy set footsteps were joined by the crashing open of doors the Federation Officer thought it best to seek for the time being.
Since the room had been made even more limited in its size thanks to
the presence of the hull plating, Logan thought of only one way in which
she could both hide and obtain some level of protection. so the woman quickly
made her way behind one of the stacks of hull plates which had been leaned against the far wall.
"Great," Logan sighed, "What the devil did Ah git maself into, joinin'
the Cardassian Exchange Program.
Then the memory of her and Nathan walking around the park, holding
hands, during the two summer breaks at the Academy popped into her head. Logan smacked her hand against her forehead. "Ah donnae need this right noo!" The memory continued, and she just let it continue.
Logan's heart skipped a beat when she heard the door to the cargo bay
being blown in. The crashing of the shattered door onto the deck had been
thunderous and had caused the woman to bring her hands to her ears. at least as much as she could given the limited manoeuvring room her hiding place offered.
By the time she could once again hear what had been taking place, Logan
heard two distinct sets of footprints. both heavy and metallic. The Federation Doctor tried to figure out what kind of footwear a Cardassian could use to make such a sound which made them appear to be countless times heavier than a normal person should have been. Curiosity and self preservation made the woman debate between sneaking a look around the protection of her hiding place or staying where she had been without making a sound. Eventually the need for her to remain safe won over and Logan simply waited for the footsteps to begin to walk away... which they did soon after to her great relief.
As she crawled out Logan witnessed the extent of the destruction left
behind by whoever or whatever had broken into the cargo bay. The woman's eyes
immediately went to an impression which had been left on the door, an impression that appeared to be that of a large fist. Being a student of medicine Ens. Hogg instantly imagined the number of bones that would have been shattered given the strength of the blow and the hardness of the door's material. yet she observed so sign of blood or injury around the recessed imprint. Maybe the imprint had been made by a Klingon or Hirogen. the two races having a higher than normal strength and endurance.
Now that the danger had apparently passed Logan's curiosity took over
and brought her to the now opened doorway where she managed to get a peek
at the beasts that had done what she had observed on the door. What the
Medical officer saw chilled her blood even though she had managed to only see their backs. *Robots*... large mechanical monsters as black as night and giving the impression that they were on a mission the likes of which the Medical Officer would likely not enjoy in the least.
Logan stepped out of the Cargo Bay and walked quickly and quietly behind
whatever the heck those guys were and stepped into the nearest turbo lift. She
stepped in and commanded in a loud whisper, "Bridge, please." Her breathing
started to get heavy and her heart was beating too quickly and she started doing breathing excercises to calm herself down. The doors opened and she stepped onto the Bridge. Logan stopped in her tracks and almost fainted.
She looked all around and saw lifeless Cardassians all around her.
Even Captain Massar was collapsed on his chair. She went up to his body and saw a laser blast or two in his chest. The guy never really liked her, but she felt sad to see their lives like this. Logan went around, inspecting the Bridge crew. After she finished making her rounds, she sat down in front of the Captain's chair.
"But why didnae they kill me, tae?"

"You may find that having is not so pleasing a thing as wanting. This is not logical, but it is often true."
