Setting: USS ANUBIS, Corridor
Lea and Susan had appeared right at home on the ANUBIS, both women glad
to be back. The HATHOR was a fine ship but the CMO and Cns seemed to
enjoy the more spacious feel of the ANUBIS. There had just been a
*homey* feel about the ship that the two women embraced with abandon.
"It will be nice to get home and put our feet up," Susan said. The
thought of her being able to return to *her* quarters though was
interrupted by a vision of Ens. Donavan. The idea of Lindsey waiting for her to return sent a shiver down Susan's spine. "On another subject, I wonder
who this Ensign is?" the Cns asked not wanting to think about Lindsey.
"My guess," Lea chuckled as she looked at the security officers posted
at the doorway of the transporter room. "She is a wanted fugitive
responsible for the murders of ten, maybe twenty high ranking diplomats."
"Sorry," the security officer said as Susan and Lea tried to enter.
"No one is allowed in."
"Excuse me?" Lea replied. Having seen the amount of security had been
one thing, but this had been too much. "What exactly are you people
keeping in there? One of the leaders of the Founders?"
"No ma'am," the officer replied all too seriously. "We are just
insuring the safety of the ship and crew."
"Well," Lea said pushing a finger into the muscled chest of the
security officer. "I am glad that you think this way. My job is also to
insure the safety of this ship and its crew. As CMO I have to make sure
that the person inside is not carrying some kind of illness that the
transporter might have missed. So unless you want to be responsible for
the crew falling ill or having their skin suddenly fall off, you will let
us through."
Susan watched with amusement the colour drain from the man's face. Lea
had taken a little too much fun in drilling the security officer but
the Cns had enjoyed the final outcome nonetheless. After having clanked
at his partner the officer moved aside and allowed the two women in.

Lea and Susan walked in to find a single woman sitting on the steps of
the transporter room. That had not been the surprising part. The fact
that she had been held there at gunpoint by half a dozen officers had
taken the CMO and Cns by complete surprise.
"Maybe this was not such a great idea," Susan whispered to her friend.
It had been possible that they had not been made aware of some facts
pertaining to the woman being held captive.
"Am Ah glad to see you," Logan said to Lea. The ensign might not have
known the lieutenant, but they at least shared one thing; the colour of
their uniform.
"Isn't this a little excessive?" Lea demanded of one of the security Officers.
"Just following orders," the man replied. It was easy to see that he
had been less than happy at the unannounced entrance of the two women.
"Orders? Whose orders?" the CMO asked. As hard as she tried she could
not imagine anyone going to such an extreme to guard a single human
woman.
"Mine!" Pravat replied as he stormed into the room. Obviously the
ANUBIS' Sec/Tac had been told about what had happened in the corridor.
"Taking the job a little too seriously aren't we?" Lea asked out of
disbelief.
"Captain Rikar wanted her to be held here until we reached Federation
space," Pravat said. Had she now known better the CMO might have
actually feared for her own safety for a moment. The look in the Marine's
eyes had been like fire.
"This is a *Transporter Room*," Lea pointed out. "Not a holding cell."
"This *ship*," Pravat said making sure not to mention its name, "is off
limits to any and all unauthorised personnel. Her *seeing* this room
is actually too much."
"So you are planning on keeping her here?" Lea demanded. She could not figure what could have been going through the CO's head. This had not been a Cardassian agent but a Starfleet Officer *and* a Federation citizen.
"Ah dono what ship this is. All that Ah know is that Ah haven't done
anything wrong," Logan pleaded.
"Well you were found onboard a Cardassian freighter," Susan pointed
out. As much as she might have disapproved of the way the ensign had been
treated, as the ship's Cns she could understand it. At least on some
distant level.
"Ah am Ensign Logan Hogg, Ah am part of the Federation / Cardassian
Medical Exchange Officer program," Logan said. The woman's thick accent
had made it impossible to think of her as a Cardassian operative. As
far as Susan knew no Cardassian could ever hope to manage mimicking such
a heavy Terran accent.
"Pravat, how about you check her story," the CMO said as she turned
back towards the Marine. "In the meantime I will run some basic medical
exams on her. If everything checks out, I will ask the captain to
change her orders. Would that be acceptable?"
Pravat seemed apprehensive but knew that as the ANUBIS' CMO Lea had the
authority to step in as she had done. The best the Marine could do was
to do as had been suggested and see what the Federation records would
show on this Ensign Logan Hogg.
