Setting: USS ANUBIS, Transporter Room 2
Logan started chewing on her bottom lip as Pravat turned and walked out
of the Transporter room. She felt bad for causing as much trouble as
she had. She turned to face the CMO.
"Ah donnae blame ye fur goin' through all this precaution. Ah wouldnae trust those Cardassians, either." Lea gestured for her to sit down on one of the steps as she took her tricorder out and started scanning Logan.
To break the silence, Lea started asking some questions. "So, how long
were you on the freighter?"
Logan smirked, "Long enough! Those Cardassians were downright rude tae
me. Even their Captain ne'er saw me once for a yearly physical. Ah
only gained the trust o a few officers, the ithers were just sceptical o
me. Sae when ye beamed me over Ah felt it wus the perfect timing.
Especially after Ah saw those robots killing each and every officer
onboard. Well three years is a long enough stay fur a human on a Cardassian
freighter. Ah wus glad Ah decided tae major in Anatomy. That wouldhae
been interesting if Ah didnae."
Lea smiled, which made Logan relax even more.
"It takes a special person to be able to do what you did," Susan said
as she jumped into the conversation. "Spending that much time away from
your own people had to be difficult."
Lea glanced up at her friend. It was easy to see that the Cns had been fishing for more information on Logan and her character. Lea didn't mind though since her medical tricorder could only reveal so much about the Ensign.
"Some like tae be home," Logan replied, "and ithers like tae be out
there." The way Ensign Hogg had said this had made some points clear.
She had left EARTH to seek adventure, but now she liked to be in the
company of her own people.
"Well aside from an apparent lack of certain vitamins in your system,
you are as healthy as could be," Lea said. The CMO did not know much
about Cardassian dietary measures but she suspected that they were far
from having been tasty. This led Lea to make an offer she knew Pravat
would have been entirely against. "How about some real food? I could
inject you with a concentrated vitamin supplement or we could go to the
Mess Hall. The second option takes a little longer but it will give us
the chance to talk some more."
"Food sounds great, but I donnae think they will let me go," Logan said
pointing to the security officers.
"Then they can come along with us," Lea said in response. "They can
keep their strengths up by eating something while keeping an eye on you
at the same time. That is what I call being professionally efficient,"
the CMO said inviting the sitting Ensign to stand.
"Captain Rikar clearly stated," the Security officer began before being
cut off by Lea.
"I'll take full responsibility," the CMO hissed. "This woman has gone
through enough without adding to it. Plus as a Medical Officer, I may
need her help to solve our current problem."
"Current problem?" Logan asked. Since she had been beamed onboard,
Ens. Hogg had not been told anything. So it made sense that she knew
nothing the Lt. Cmdr. Enaii and the state that she had been in.
"Come," Lea said, "I'll explain everything."

While Ens. Halliwell continued to monitor the vital signs of the ILO,
the others were discussing the matter. Lea had tried her best to
explain the situation as clearly and quickly as possible. Of course
explaining anything dealing with the ILO quickly had never been an easy task.
"So lemme get this straight," Logan said as she swallowed a large piece of fresh apple pie. "That woman was in that planet's atmosphere as detached molecules for *days*? Ah am surprised that ye got her back at all."
"We'll this crew is remarkably good at pulling off the impossible,"
Susan grinned. Since her own coming onboard the Cns had been forced to
re-evaluate her definition of *impossible*.
"Ah would love to help, but Ah donnae wish tae cause problems," Logan
said. The glares she had been receiving from the security officers had
been more than enough to make her feel unwelcome.
Lea and Susan turned to see the Marine walked into the room. It was
easy to see that Pravat had not been at all happy.
"Looks like we are in for it now," Susan whispered.
"I'm actually surprised that it took him this long to show up," Lea
replied in the same whispered voice.
"I have just received word from Capt. Rikar," Pravat said as he glared
at Logan. "Admiral Koniki has granted Ens. Hogg full access to the ANUBIS."
"ANUBIS?" Logan repeated. This had been the first time the name of the
ship had been mentioned to her.
"Looks like we have a whole lot more to talk about now," Lea said as
she grinned at Logan who seemed nervous.
