Setting: USS ANUBIS, Corridor outside Holodeck 2
When Susan had called for Uxtar, the Cns had sounded rather troubled
which had been why he had left Derek alone in the Black Hole Lounge.
The Hirogen hunter and Sec/Tac officer of the ANUBIS had figured that
he had been called to help with some minor thing such as a problem with
one of the security systems onboard the ship or just a heavier than normal
object that needed to be moved out of her way. When the Sec/Tac
officer arrived at Holodeck 2 though Uxtar was quickly pulled aside and briefed
on the situation.
"I need a favor from you," Susan said in a whispered voice. "I need
you to erase any and all traces of this program from the ship's computer.
What lea did in there does not need to get out to the rest of the crew."
"What makes you think that I can do that?" Uxtar asked his eyes having slowly turned onto the sobbing CMO who had been left not too far behind the Cns.
"Because you are the Chief of Security," Susan answered, "and Lea's *friend*."
"I'll do my best," the Hirogen nodded, "but you and I both know that
there are no secrets onboard an Intel vessel like the ANUBIS. I would
not at all be surprised to learn that Lt. Cmdr. Enaii already knows
about what happened in here. By the way, what did happen?" The Sec/Tac
asked, the holodeck having been turned off before he had arrived.
"As a favor to me, don't ask," the Cns requested. Uxtar could not be
sure about it but based on the way Susan had made the request the
Hirogen could only guess that whatever had happened had been *bad*.
"Very well," the Sec/Tac officer agreed. "I'll do what I can."
"Thank you," Susan replied quickly before she turned back to face Lea
and helped the CMO to her feet to escort the distress woman back to
somewhere else. Uxtar could only guess that their final location would
either be Sickbay or Lea' quarters.
Now alone in Holodeck 2, the Hirogen turned to the control panel and
spoke, "Computer, access last program run in this holodeck."
While he waited for the computer to confirm the completion of the
request, the Sec/Tac officer debated as to looking at the content of
the file before demanding it to be deleted. Uxtar quickly decided against
this since Susan had been so adamant that he did not, for Lea's sake.
=/\= Ready, =/\= the computer replied once the file had been retrieved
from the main memory banks.
"Delete that program as well as all associated files and backups,
authorization Uxtar-Epsilon-Zero-Zero-Nine-Five."
"BELAY THAT ORDER!"
To surprise a Hirogen had been a feat reserved for a very select few
individuals, and the ILO of the USS ANUBIS had unfortunately been one
such person. Uxtar quickly turned to face Lt. Cmdr. Enaii who had
somehow appeared inside of the holodeck without the Sec/Tac officer
having heard or seen anything.
"Commander Enaii," Uxtar said as he snapped to attention. As small as
the ILO might have been when compared to the Hirogen, there had always
been something about the woman that frankly scared the Sec/Tac officer.
"Dismiss," the ILO ordered as she moved closer to the Hirogen forcing
him to take several steps backwards until he found himself standing in
the corridor. As the doors closed he saw Enaii turn towards the
holodeck's control panel.
"This could be bad," Uxtar sighed to himself as he wondered what
program Lea had been running and what kind of trouble the CMO would find
herself in now that the ILO had discovered it. The best the Hirogen could do
was to rejoin his friend Derek in the Black Hole Lounge and hope that a
few drinks would make the approaching storm unleashed by Lt. Cmdr.
Enaii more barebale.
