"Good morning Admiral," Allyson offered with her usual chipper tone as the flag officer stepped in. The receptionist for the administrative wing of the NEW ALEXANDRIA complex had never displayed the slightest hint of ill temperament … not that she would have been able to if she had wanted to do so.
"Good morning Allyson," Admiral Koneki nodded as he walked passed the smiling woman and vanished into his office knowing all too well that she had been there all night and had performed her duties with perfect efficiency which mean that several reports had been compiled and were waiting for his perusal.
As the Admiral stepped into his office he took a moment to admire the
three large statues which proudly stood behind his desk, each stone-made
recreation of an Egyptian god representing one of the primary Intel
ships which called the NEW ALEXANDRIA complex home. A faint smile came to
grace the features of the ages man as he congratulated himself for having
created this base and made the universe a little safer through the operations
conducted by the specialized crews onboard those vessels.
The first report on the Admiral's desk spoke the USS SEKHMET's still
ongoing mission deep inside THOLIAN space… the crew and ship had been sent to
investigate several unconfirmed reports speaking of a strange alien
ship which left nothing but chaos and destruction in its wake. So far Ctp.
Walter Sangolo had found nothing but a shattered moon which his science
staff had still been trying to explain.
Having read the report the Admiral shifted his attention to the next
PADD on his desk, this one speaking of the USS ANUBIS and its mission to IRRAJ.
[/\] We did tell you that there was a high probability of IRRAJ falling
into civil war, [/\] a woman hiding in the shadows said on the large screen
located on the wall in front of the Admiral's desk.
[/\] The presence of the ANUBIS increased those probabilities by 17.3%, [/\] a second voice offered, the mannerism and tonality of the latest voice
pointing to her being related to the first.
"I know… and all proceeded as it was meant to," the Admiral acknowledged as he leaned back into his chair.
[/\] Although the people of IRRAJ possess a lower level of technology
than that of the Dominion troops currently present on that world, we have
calculated that there is a 78.9% probability that the Jem'Hadar troops
will be defeated within the next month, [/\] a third voice added.
[/\] That probability raises to 93.1% if we increase our projection over the next three months based on their diminishing supply of 'Tetracel-White', [/\] yet another voice offered which brought the number of woman hiding in the shadows to four.
[/\] This is of course based on our being able to stop any future
shipments of 'Tetracel-White' from reaching that world… and given our current
Intel and fleet deployment there is only a 58.3% chance that we will be able
to fully intercept these shipments, [/\] a fifth voice added.
[/\] There is a 24.7% chance that the Dominion will send in more troops
in view of the problems that have risen on IRRAJ… this will of course
require us to review all of our projections," the sixth and last voice of the
sisters offered which prompted the Admiral to intervene before the
'profilers' decided to go through another set of mathematical probabilities.
"Thank you for all of your input… but for the time being the situation
on IRRAJ is to be considered *closed*. King Tkel Holoj made his choice…
now he will have to live with it for a little while before we consider going
in to the rescue. IRRAJ is not *that* important for the moment… there are
more pressing matters at hand," Admiral Koneki admitted before he turned to
his desktop monitor which had suddenly come to life.
[/\] Admiral… you had wanted to be notified as soon as the EGYPT was within range, [/\] Commodore Simmons relayed as he features filled the small screen.
"Perfect… how far is the ANUBIS?" the Admiral inquired obviously having
planned for something involving the two ships.
[/\] The ANUBIS should be docking within the next 12 hours Sir, [/\]
Lt. Commander Argus O'Dell, the Chief of Operations replied in his thick
Irish accent.
"Have Captain Rikar report to me as soon as docking is completed… and
I'll take care of the EGYPT and Ensign Thomas," the Admiral ordered before
he closed the comm channel.

The trip through the NEW ALEXANDRIA complex had been a long one, but
thanks to the assistance of Commander Du'Kim, the Cardassian Chief of Security
who had been sent to escort Ensign Thomas and his daughters up to see the
Admiral, the journey had taken only half an hour.
"Here you are… the Administrative Section of NEW ALEXANDRIA," the
Cardassian offered as he watched the two girls scamper passed him with visible
fear on their faces.
"Thank you Commander," Ensign Elliot Thomas offered with a distinct gulp… he too not having been all that certain about the sight of a Cardassian in a Starfleet Uniform.
"Welcome to NEW ALEXANDRIA," Allyson quickly offered making the three
new arrivals turn to look at the brightly smiling blonde woman sitting
behind the reception desk.
"Thank you…" Elliot replied with a hint of relief, glad to have found a
welcoming face at the end of his journey.
"Admiral Koneki has been expecting you… and you two must be Samantha
and Alice," Allyson offered to the teenage girls as she moved around her
desk and greeted them by offering each a Risian lollipop, one red and one
yellow. Obviously the receptionist had been expecting them, something that
Ensign Thomas had found both reassuring and unnerving all at the same time.
"I'm Samantha," the older of the two girls said as she reached for the
red sweet.
"Hey, no fair! I wanted the red one," Alice snapped as she glared at her sister. Before the battle between the two girls could even begin, Allyson reached behind her desk and produced a second red lollipop from the stash she kept for Talia's visits, which was promptly handed to the second girl.
"The Admiral is waiting for you," Allyson pointed out with a gentle smile as she looked at the girls' father which made it clear to Elliot that his girls would be well taken off while he and the Admiral had their little chat.
With some level of anxiety the Ensign made his way to the door which
immediately opened.
"Ensign Thomas… welcome to NEW ALEXANDRIA… come in... we have a few
things to discuss," the Admiral offered as he motioned for the nervous looking
Ensign to step inside the large office.
