Stardate: 61016.1400
Setting: USS ANUBIS, Stellar Cartography

The quiet and motionless stars which had kept the Shillian scientist company for the last hours had done very little to ease her thoughts about the turmoil that they had left behind on IRRAJ. At first the Chief Science Officer had believed that the crew had managed a miraculous escape, but after her wounds had fully healed the Shillian woman had come to learn of the chaos they had left behind them. This by itself would have been more than enough for the head of the science department of the USS ANUBIS to feel guilt over, but the emotional and physical turmoil that the crew had brought back with them had only compounded the situation.

The last time the Chief Science Officer had checked, Lieutenant Dawson and Lieutenant Commander Serenna had still been in Sickbay slowly recovering from the injuries they had obtained during the fight for their freedom. The Shillian woman felt guilt towards this as well because she had not taken part in the effort to regain their freedom, the scientist having been indisposed because of her own lingering injuries.

As much as the scientist might have wanted to join in and help, the Shillian had to admit to herself with a certain amount of shame that she would have more than likely taken on her cat form and ran away instead of shape-shifting into an animal that might have offered some kind of assistance. Truth be known, the last descendant of the Shillian race had never taken the time to research changing into any sort of animal form that might have proven in any way helpful during any sort of conflict.

"That is why Pravat is here with us," the Shillian woman sighed with both admiration and shame knowing that the Marine Commanding Officer would have not hesitated for an instant to jump into the fray and help fight for the freedom of all concerned. A strange sensation swept through the soul of the scientist as he experienced a strange recollection of the Enaran Marine cradling the woman in his arms and carrying her to safety.

"Why am I here with you?" the Marine in question asked having been leaning against the back wall of the Stellar Cartography lab long enough to have heard the words spoken by the Shillian woman.

"When did you get so light-footed?" the scientist asked as the Shillian tried her best to regain her breath. This had not been the first time that the Chief Science Officer had failed to hear someone enter the room, yet each time the woman promised herself that she would allow such thing to happen again.

"I just wanted to check up on you," the Enaran ma replied, "I was concerned about you and the nurses in Sickbay said that you had been released several hours ago. Although I am not a scientist, I used basic reasoning and figured that you would either be in the Astrometrics lab or here in Stellar Cartography," the Marine said with an amused grin.

"Am I that predictable, I mean I am the Chief Science Officer of the ANUBIS so I could theoretically be in any of the labs on the ship or be on the bridge working on some long-range scans or research? I realise that we are heading back to NEW ALEXANDRIA and that we already know all that there is to know on this region of space, of course I mean that in a scientific way. Still your assumption that I would be in one of two rooms is flawed if based on all of my duties and responsibilities, plus I would like to believe that I am not that predictable, although I guess you could say that being predictable is a good thing. Matter and energy are for the most part predictable which allows any observer, be them scientist of not, to accurately predict how certain materials would react to specific conditions," the Shillian woman said in what had felt to be a single breath.

"No doubt about it," the Enaran chuckled, "you are back to normal."

The Shillian woman glared at the Marine for several seconds before she joined him in his laughter and she relinquished her argument and admitted, although not out loud, that Pravat had been correct in his assumption. When troubled or contemplating something serious, the Shillian woman had a habit of being in one of the two locations mentioned by the Enaran.
