"Monkeys, Cats and Hirogens?"

Setting: USS ANUBIS, Draxx/Rikar's Quarters
Lea glanced around the room that the CO and ILO called home. The CMO had never expected to be where she was after what happened. Lea had also never expected to be there for the reason that she had been given.
"Come on Doctarr," Talia said as she rushed after the small fury critter. "Help Ta’ha-lia catch Capi."
The CMO made a quick mental note of what needed to be done during her 'tour of duty' in the Draxx residence. The first item had been to catch that monkey. The second would be to clean the mess that had been left behind. The third would be to feed Talia supper. The fourth would be to entertain the child until bed time. Lea grinned inwardly as the CMO thought that this would be an easy way to be back on the ILO's good side.

The small monkey bounced off the CMO's chest and onto the flipped couch. Lea could not believe that the creature had managed to elude them for over an hour. Worse had been that the mess throughout the quarters had only increased.
"Doctoarr, you can't catch Capi on your back," Talia said as the little girl jumped over the CMO. Lea rolled her eyes and sighed as she returned to her feet. That monkey had been impossible to catch and Lea doubted that they would be able to do so before Enaii and Sabrina returned.
"Maybe we are going about this all wrong," Lea said out of breath. "There has to be an easier way to catch that thing. What does it like to eat?"
Talia stopped dead in her tracks and turned to look at Lea. The sparkle in the child's eyes was that of an earth-shattering discovery.
"Ice-cream!" Talia exclaimed with glee.
"No," Lea said in a stern voice. "Not what *you* like to eat, what Capi likes to eat."
"Capi *likes* ice-cream," the little girl stated before vanishing into the kitchen.
"Great, as if this mess had not been bad enough," Lea whispered to herself. The thought of feeding the monkey ice-cream sent shivers up the CMO's spine. This cold not be a good thing.

Lea sighed as she looked around the living room. As impossible as it might have seen a few hours ago, all had been restored to normal. The mess had been cleaned up, for the most part. The monkey had been captured, fed and was now sleeping with his owner in her bed. Talia had also been fed, somewhat, while showing to Capi that the offering of food had been genuine.
The CMO allowed her body to sink into the couch, letting her fatigue and sore muscles take over. Now that it had all been over, Lea wondered if this had truly been a suitable punishment for what she had done. After an evening such as the one she had survived through, the CMO pictured herself entitled to a few more holodeck sessions.

The sound of the door chime woke Lea from her sleep in a startle. It had taken a few moments for the CMO to remember where she had been and what she had been there to do. A quick survey of the room showed that all had been as she had left it before Lea had fallen asleep.
"Lea, how come you are here?" Maya asked, the CSciO's eyes looking as if they had not expected to find the CMO.
"I'm babysitting Talia," Lea replied with a shrug. "Why? What's wrong?"
"Talia is running around the ship. Apparently Capi got loose."
"She must have gone out while I was asleep," Lea said in despair. "We have to go after them before they break something."
"Too late for that," Maya said with a hint of regret. The CMO quickly followed the CSciO thinking that this had not been the right way to get on the ILO's good side.

This was turning into one of those days, and Lea had been awake for only a few minutes. The CMO doubted that ice-cream would save the day this time around. As Lea and Maya turned the corner they almost ran Susan down. As if the Cns had known the exact reason for the two women's presence, Susan simply pointed down the corridor where Uxtar stood.
"Lost something?" the Hirogen asked as he turned to greet Maya and Lea while holding both Talia and Capi up in the air.
"We did nothing," Talia said, unable to break free from the Hirogen's
hold on her collar. "Capi left and I went after him."
"Forgot to mention that they knocked down an engineering module and shattered a shipment for the Black Hole. That is aside from knocking Pravat on his rear and nearly sending Mattias over the railing in engineering." The Sec/Tac officer said the frown on his brow as clear as could be.
"I'm sorry," Lea said almost in tears. "It's my fault. I was suppose to keep an eye on her while Enaii and Sabrina were out."
"Maybe you should be more careful in the future," Uxtar said as he lowered Talia to her feet. The small monkey though remained in the grasp of the Sec/Tac officer.
"Let go Capi," Talia demanded while kicking the leg of the Hirogen who appeared less than impressed.
"If I catch this thing again, I will have it for breakfast," Uxtar growled as he handed the small animal back to Talia. Capi immediately ran to seek the protection of his owner, hanging on her shoulder as far away from the Hirogen as possible.
"Come on you two," Lea said as she motioned the child and monkey down the corridor. "Uxtar, please let everyone that I am sorry and that I will replace anything that was broken."
"I doubt you will be able to replace Pravat's pride," Uxtar grinned
while he watched the CMO and the ILO's daughter head down the corridor.
