"Finally Some Quiet Time"

Setting: USS ANUBIS, Bridge
Now that the crew had finished 'monkeying around', the Hirogen Sec/Tac
had been able to return to what he had set himself to do. With the
ANUBIS safely secured inside NEW ALEXANDRIA, the Hirogen had hoped to
get some work done on the fine-tuning of the ship's offensive systems.
"Uxtar, let me introduce to you our new COO, Ensign Elliot Thomas,"
Pravat said motioning the imposing Hirogen closer.
"And this is our Chief of Security and resident beauty queen, Ensign
Uxtar," the Marine said without as much as breaking a smile as he
introduced the Hirogen to the newest member of the ANUBIS' crew.
"And that was a perfect example of what Marines refer to as a sense of
humor," Uxtar half snarled back knowing that the words had been meant as
nothing more than a joke. "You are lucky that your lady is here, or I
might have been inclined to teach you a lesson," the Sec/Tac added in
the same serious tone that the Marine had earlier used.
Shocked that the Hirogen would openly refer to the Shillian as *his*
lady, the Marine nearly swatted at the hunter. Instead the MCO simply
took a deep breath and hoped that Maya had been too far away to hear
what Uxtar had said.
"Maybe I should go to my station," Elliot said with extreme caution half
expecting the two warriors to settle this in the way they knew best.
"Is everything alright?" the acting CO asked, the general tone of the
conversation having caught her attention from across the bridge.
"Just having a little humorous chat," Pravat said ready to elbow the
Hirogen should his excuse differ.
"All is well," the Hunter confirmed, "I had wanted to perform some
adjustments on the weapons systems while we are docked at the base. So
if you will permit me," the Hirogen said excusing himself and
withdrawing to the tactical station.
"Why do I have the feeling that you two are up to something," Maya half
grinned as she shot a quick glare in the direction of the MCO.
"Wouldn't want our new COO to think that life onboard a starship is all
fun and games," Pravat snickered back as he walked by Maya and escorted
Elliot to the station that would be his.
While the Marine helped the COO become more acquainted with the unique
systems of the ANUBIS, the Hirogen Hunter began working on what he had
wanted to do glad to see that everything had apparently returned to normal.
