Setting: USS ANUBIS, Black Hole Lounge
Stardate: 61017.1900

Lea and Susan sat at a table enjoying a new cocktail created by the barman at their request. The CMO and Cns had been in the mood for something different as they discussed the latest local events.

"According to my sources," Susan stated as she glared at her drink. "Admiral Koneki has been rather elusive as to the ANUBIS' next mission. I think James was being kind and that he did not want to just come out with it."

"Come out with what?" Lea asked, amused by the look on the Cns' face.

"That the Admiral doesn't know what to do with us," Susan replied. "What is that thing floating in our drinks?"

Lea giggled. "Depends on how you want me to answer."

"Depends?" the Cns repeated quizzically.

"Yup," Lea nodded. "Depends on whether you want me to answer in a professional manner as the ANUBIS' CMO or as a friend."

"Why do I have the feeling that I'm better to retract my question?" Lea chuckled. "They do say that ignorance is bliss."

"Ignorance may be bliss," the CMO whispered back. "But I would love to know what our two new Ensigns are talking about. You should have seen them in Sickbay; there was definitively something between the two of them. I know that it could be as simple as them having been in the same classes, but I wonder."

Susan quickly turned her attention to the table where Akira and Elliot sat. As a Cns Susan could interpret their body language and try to guess as to the details of the Ensigns' relationship. At first Susan could not see anything worth mentioning, but in time things became a little clearer.

"Look at the way they keep looking into each other's eyes," Susan stated. "This is an indication of familiarity. Of course this doesn't mean all that much. They could simply be very good friends."

"The world of Intel is never about absolute facts," Lea stated, straining to see the interaction between the two Ensigns. "Just knowing that they know each other is more than we knew before."

"Lea," the Cns chuckled dryly. "You have been spending way too much time around Enaii. You are starting to sound like her. Vague and enigmatic."

The CMO turned all of a sudden and appeared insulted by the comparison. There had been a lot of people that Lea would not have minded being compared to. Some the CMO might have actually accepted as a genuine compliment. The ANUBIS' ILO though had not been included amongst these people.

"I'm sorry," Susan quickly added. "That was insensitive of me. I should not have said that." The Cns had been very aware of the incident that had occurred in the holodeck. The setting of the Black Hole Lounge and the more relaxed atmosphere had made the Cns relax more than she should have. Now of course it had been too late and all that Susan could do was to try and mend the damage she had done.

"It's alright," Lea stated as she downed the entirety of her drink in one gulp. "I know that you didn't mean anything by it."
