Aki grinned as she recalled the scene of an old movie where a man and
a woman stood at the front of a large sea faring ship. The assistant
CMO/CSciO had to call upon every ounce of self control to stop from
spreading her arms as wide as they would go and embrace the cool ocean
breeze created by the ship moving forward. Aki had not wanted to make
a spectacle and being alone unlike the scene in the movie had
diminished her willingness to duplicate what she had seen.
The assistant CMO/CSciO found her eyes slowly drifting upward towards
the star-filled night's sky. This had not been the first time she had
looked up and studies the twinkling lights overhead, but the sound of
the ship as it made its way over the gentle waves had added a
dimension that Aki had never before experienced. For a moment the
oriental woman found herself longing for companionship to share the
scene and fill an internal emptiness that Aki had not realised had
been there until now.
"Enjoying the view?" ET asked with a smirk as he slowly moved up the
steps leading to the small section where Aki had been.
"I was thinking about our missing officers," Aki replied after a short
delay during which she quickly considered the consequences of her
revealing the actual point of her thoughts.
"I know that Fasham painted a grim picture but I am sure that everyone
will be fine," ET said. In addition to his comforting words the COO
had decided to add a caring embrace, a gesture that the man had been
most happy to see not being rejected by the assistant CMO/CSciO.
"This world like so many others has such potential to being a
paradise, yet like those same worlds there is always something that
present to shatter this concept and make any visitor realise that
heaven and hell are but a side of the same coin," Aki said with great
sadness in her voice.
"Ykes," ET gulped, "you sure have a way to put things into an awkward
perspective. Maybe we should just give up now and save ourselves the
trouble."
Aki glared at the COO knowing full well that he had been kidding.
After a few shared moments of silence the two Ensigns fell into each
other's arms and gazed up at the stars together, both having decided
to ignore *hell* and focus on *heaven* for the time being.

The CO watched the couple from the back of the ship as she shook her
head in amusement.
"Pheromones?" Uxtar asked as he crossed his arms in front of him.
"We can only hope so," Sabrina snickered. "If not we might have to
deal with an entirely different problem before this mission is over
and done with."
