VISUAL
With much talk about a needed restoration, along with many years of terrible prints showing up on local TV stations, this release has, and will, make many happy. The quality is really great filled with a wide color pallet, wonderful and steady contrast, and a clean print. Film grain is hardly noticeable and the digital authoring is excellent. ANCHOR BAY’S attention to detail means the film will be presented true to its original theatrical ratio. With widescreen being the norm, whether matted or anamorphic, many a time standard (Full-Frame) films were simply matted in the projection process cutting off the top and bottom of the frame to fill the theater screen. From my information this Full-Frame presentation is indeed the original aspect ratio.
AUDIO
The MONO soundtrack is presented in 2.0 MONO. No problems or flaws here. The mix is fine and clear with no distortions. It will be merged into your center speaker if your receiver is set to Dolby Pro-logic. The dynamics are limited, much like TV sound of the day. But this does not take away from the enjoyment kids will muster from the film.

PRESENTATION
ANCHOR BAY has opted for a new art design for the packaging, different from the theatrical one. Inside the black plastic Amaray is a generous insert booklet. The liner notes are a bit one sided and read more like press promotional material promising more than the film delivers. However there are some very nice reproductions in the booklet.
