DIVA Tsunami Relief Fund (DTRF)

 
 
 

On December 26, 2004, Tsunami, the devastating tidal waves hit the coastal regions of the South Eastern Asia including southern India and Andaman and Nicobar Islands. The members of Diva were deeply moved by the suffering of thousands of men, women and children who survived this natural calamity but left with neither food nor shelter.  We set up a ‘Tsunami Relief Fund’ to raise money to help those people, although DIVA is completely dedicated for the service of Indian villages. Apart from our regular members, we received donations from our well-wishers and friends. A week after the fund was established; we contacted R K Mission as they were conducting a deft relief work in the affected regions. We thank the Mission for accepting our donations and adding it to their relief fund. This was the first project by DIVA and it was a big success.

A brief report of our ongoing TSUNAMI relief work is also enclosed for your kind information.
