Angry that Paul wants nothing to do with her, Emily pulls out a handgun and shoots him as he walks away. After he falls to the ground she starts crying as she realizes what she has done. Mumbling, Paul asks "why" and then loses consciousness as Emily fears that she has killed him. Calming down, Emily pushes him over the nearby cliff and then tosses the gun. Finding his cellphone nearby, Emily calls herself to set up her own alibi. She then throws the phone over the edge and pockets her bloody scarf. Emily finds her mother at the hospital and claims that Paul called to cancel the wedding. She cries that she thinks she'll never see Paul again. Barbara encourages Jennifer to act on her feelings for Dusty. Meg tries to convince Dusty that she deserves another chance because she eventually did the right thing and reunited Jennifer with her son. Grabbing her coat and throwing it at her, Dusty again orders her to get out. Driving in spite of her tears, Meg slams on the brakes as she loses control of her car. Emerging from her car, Meg fears she hit someone when she hears a moan. She then spots a body in the street and is startled to discover it's Paul. Dusty advises an angry Jennifer that Meg knew for a long time about the baby and that they had fallen in love with each other. At Java Carly resents it when a crowd congratulates Nick for being a hero at WOAK. Jack urges her to forget about it but when Nick states that Mike's the real hero, Carly decides to let him know what she thinks of him but when she does, he counters her angry words with more flirting. Jack interrupts and Nick points out that Jack's a legend at the station house. Jack later orders Carly not to make trouble for Nick.
Hearing a voice moaning, Meg is startled to find Paul in the snow. When she asks who shot him, he claims it was hunters. He refuses to let her take him to the hospital and insists that no one can know. He asks her to take him to a nearby cabin where she reports he's very lucky not to have lost more blood than he already has. Meg reluctantly gets him to the cabin and into bed but refuses to get him any drugs or treat him further. As she starts to leave him, Paul announces that he will pay her a million dollars for her help. Admitting he's taken a job offer from a friend in San Diego, Keith announces to Lily that they're leaving for California tomorrow and asks her to pack her bags. Susan worries to hear her daughter alternately crying and then quiet. Lily claims she can't go but when Holden arrives, she cries that she must go with Keith because she knows that Luke will die if she goes back on her word. Holden pleads with her to send Keith away so they can all come home. Getting her some tea, Susan finds blood on her coat but Emily excuses it and then considers moving back into Susan's place. But when Susan mentions she's "free," Emily starts crying hysterically. Though Emily insists that she not call Hal, Susan does just that and instructs him outside the house that her troubled daughter needs him. Inside, Emily finds her bloody scarf and hides it. Meanwhile, Jennifer kisses Dusty and lets him know that she has dreamed of being with him for months because she loves him. Dusty later tells her that he loves her too and downplays the feelings he had for Meg. Jennifer insists on confronting Meg. |
