	Announcing her return from the dead, Rachel informs a shuddering Alistair she's been behind all the mysterious doings around the Crane mansion. Edna and Norma vow to take revenge on Tabitha if they ever manage to break the spell which holds them prisoner inside a Christmas tree ornament. Alistair's guests find themselves trapped together in the library as the clock chimes midnight. Smoke suddenly begins pouring into the room, sending waves of panic through the frightened partygoers. Alistair attempts to give a knife-wielding Rachel the slip but she doggedly pursues him through the halls of the mansion. A lucky lightning strike frees Norma and Edna from their glassy prison and restores them both to normal size. Noah finally discovers a way out and Alistair's prisoners make their escape. Later, everybody receives conflicting text messages about loved ones in distress and they all go racing back to the living room in fear. Norma corners Tabitha with her trusty hatchet but the witch warns her enemy that a horrific murder is about to befall someone close at hand. As his guests gather in the living room, Alistair suddenly staggers in with a knife jutting out from between his shoulder blades and collapses on the floor. After Eve declares their host dead, the other partygoers finally feel in a festive mood and cheerfully break out the champagne. Fancy alone mourns for her grandfather and tearfully insists on finding who murdered Alistair. Later, Sam announces that the killer must still be in the house and Tabitha eagerly waits for the evening's entertainment to begin. One by one, the assembled citizens of Harmony realize they each have ample motive for knocking off their town's most despised resident. Startled to hear Alistair breathing, Fancy pleads with Eve to save her beloved "grampy" while the others vote to simply let the old S.O.B. perish. Katherine urges a guilt- stricken Sheridan to stop blaming herself for her aunt's death. Julian, Fox, Kay and Tabitha all recall the bitter arguments they each had with Alistair shortly before the lights went out. Still trapped in the mansion due to the storm, the partygoers rejoice too soon over Alistair's murder. Realizing that Alistair is still alive, Fancy convinces Dr. Eve help revive him. Fancy searches the mansion for medical equipment to save her Grampy. Sam vows to catch Alistair's attacker.
