It all started August 8, 1999 when I with a group of friends decided to take a plunge and try out scuba diving. I never looked back ever since. The popular dive sites that I have done are the ones in Anilao, Batangas City, just a couple of miles just south of Manila, also just across the channels between Batangas and Mindoro, another famous dive sites in Puerto Galera. Other place that I dived was in Honda Bay, in Puerto Princesa, Palawan. |

And now 2003, five years later, most of the time that my schedule deters me from diving often as I used to (like I'm always out diving every weekends of a month), it would be best to have new plans to visit again such beautiful dive sites and familiar faces - schools of jacks, barracudas, anemones, clownfishes, pufferfishes, lionfishes and others. |

The best time of the year to dive here in the Philippines usually starts from mid-October until mid-June of the following year. These are the time that visibility varies from clear to 30 feet to 60 feet.
One the months of January-February, being the cold season, you'd encounter a lot of pelagics! You might even get a bonus of having to spot some nice school of barracudas encircling you (hopefully not for dinner! hahaha!), some blacktip sharks, manta rays, even some chance encounter with leatherback turtles.
The best divesites that Philippines can offer are those of Anilao, Puerto Galera, Palawan, Cebu, Bohol, and Tubbataha Reef in Sulu Sea. Hope to see you here in the Philippines soon! |
