NEWS FLASH!  

 

As winner of the District 74 Speech Contest, Division A’s Jonah Mungoshi competed in the 'Toastmasters International Inter-district Speech Contest' on Tuesday, 20 August in San Antonio, Texas, USA (this Regional Contest comprises all the districts outside USA and Canada e.g. Australia, New Zealand, the Pacific Rim, Europe etc). Jonah successfully competed in the regional finals and won that round.

 

He went on to compete again on Saturday 24 August against eight other Toastmasters, all with their eye on the 'Toastmasters International World Championship of Public Speaking Contest'. Jonah gave an excellent performance and won 3rd prize!

 

CONGRATULATIONS!

 

You have done Division A and Toastmasters Southern Africa proud.

Jonah is 34 years old and falls under the fire sign, Aries, and is indeed a man of limitless energy. Jonah is a member of the Bahai Faith that teaches unity of mankind, unity of God and unity of religion. He has been married for 5 years and has a pigeon pair: a young son of 4 years and a baby daughter of 5 months. He has a Bachelor Degree in Business Studies from the University of Zimbabwe and in presently studying towards his Masters in Business Administration that he will complete in April 2003.

 

Jonah has held a part-time position as a radio announcer and producer at the Zimbabwe Broadcast Corporation, Radio One. He writes for a regular motivation section in a weekly newspaper, The Financial Gazette. The column is called 'Success Unlimited by the Success Coach'. Jonah is the Head of the Information Technology (IT) Department at the Commercial Bank of Zimbabwe.

 

There is very fine line between Jonah's hobbies and work as he enjoys all that he does. His own, and all children have a very special place in his heart and life.
