Xund Rivvin Story
Driolo Aid Project Draco's Inferno Weyr

The next day, all five caretakers arrived at the Professor's home, charges either willingly or unwillingly in tow. Xund was proving to be a very calm creature. He wasn't belligerent or talkative, nor was he stupid. Cyizo was already fond of the cow-like beast. For this day, their task was to spread out and search for more of the creatures in the wild. Even more curious than the previous day, the Geperna set out readily with his Prinil friend.

Xund walked just ahead of Cyizo across the dry ground, his feet kicking up little clouds of dust with each step, head bobbing up and down as he scanned the stark horizion. "This might be a little more interesting if you were the talkative sort." the white commented as the pair stopped for a break. Shielding his eyes with a wing against the brilliant sun, Cyizo looked across the landscape before them. How anyone managed to scrape a living out of this hard, dry planet, he couldn't fathom. They had been traveling for the better part of the day and hadn't come across a single living soul.

Suddenly, Xund's normally laid-back ears flipped forward and he turned his snout into the very slight breeze, taking deep whuffs of air. Look to the left. he replied quietly to Cyizo's questioning glance. The slightest feather-touch of movement on the flank of a hill drew the white's attention. A cloud of dust was approaching, one not generated by a wind storm. Something was galloping across it at a rapid pace. "Is that one of them?" Xund nodded. "Then let's go meet him!" Taking to wing, Cyizo picked up Xund and soared off toward source of the dust quickly.

The cloud dispersed over the ridge of the hill, leaving little straggly clouds still hanging in the now still air. Cyizo touched down, dropping Xund and inspecting their surroundings. A small burrow of some kind went deep into the rocky hillside, a trail of footprints in the sand signaled that it played host to some kind of creature. "Well, go on... do your thing." Raising an eyebrow, Xund reguarded his caretaker with a "whatever" look before trotting to the opening. He didn't have to go in after it's inhabitant, as soon as Xund's shadow fell over the entrance a bright blue head popped out, button-black eyes glittering mischeviously.

It uttered a low, "rrrr"-ing growl, ears laid back in anger. Standing in front of the creature, Xund turned to look at Cyizo, waiting for instructions. The Geperna blinked, What am I supposed to do? Fight or flee. Xund heaved a sigh of extreme weariness. Right then, I pick fight. He looks like a scrawny thing, you can take him. Boy was he ever wrong.

As soon as Xund turned to face the dracoinc creature again, it flew at him in a shower of sand grains and dust. The Prinil just sat there and watched the creature approach, blinking mildly. When the beast made contact, a cloud of tan dust was stirred up around the pair, hampering Cyizo's ability to see anything that was going on. He heard grunts and snarls, sounds of bovine anger and teeth-on-teeth. Bobbing his head in anticipation, Cyizo certainly hoped the fight was going well.

After a bit of scuffling, one of the combatants let out a screech of pain and a blue blur soared to the left, another darting to the right toward the burrow. Hurrying to the first blur, Cyizo found a very dazed-looking Xund, his fur coated in dust and what looked like... drool? "Well? What happened?" Eyeing him irritably, Xund pulled himself to his feet and whuffed at him, shaking violently like a dog to shed the dust that clung to his fur. After this, he gave him a "what do you bloody think?" look before limping off for a shaded spot under a cliff. "Oh... Oh well, we'll have better luck tomorrow!" Xund rolled his eyes again, letting himself be tended to by the Geperna.
