Becky from West Virginia was my very first penpal in January 2003. I was new at being a penpal and she helped me learn what to do. We participated in the PenPal Word Search game and won by making the most words from "Friendships"!

February 2003 brought me a very special penpal all the way from British Columbia, Canada. Val was such a pleasure to get to know and a very experienced penpal. We had so much in common. We both have sons the same age and were experiencing some of the same teenage struggles. A long time member of Women Who Believe (WWB) she is very active in several WWB committees. During February she was busy making quilt squares for Threads of Friendship. We also participated in the PenPal Word Search Game. Our word was "Valentines" and we won with 302 words!
Val sent me so many wonderful gifts throughout the month (some are below), most of them made by her. We even chatted on MSN Messenger quite often.
I nominated Val for penpal of the month and knew she'd win hands down. She taught me what a good penpal truly is.
