| The first public appearance of the Dizengoff Memorial Quilt, was at the Memorial Ceremony for the Victims at Dizengoff Center, Sunday, March 20, 2005. This annual memorial ceremony for the 13 victims of the attack usually takes place on March 4th at 3:56PM (the exact time of attack). Because of the Jewish Leap Year, the date of the ceremony in 2005 was postponed to coincide with Purim, some three weeks later than usual. The ceremony was held at the intersection of Dizengoff and King George streets in Tel-Aviv, next to the memorial monument. It is organized and sponsored by The Municipality of Tel-Aviv-Yafo, in coordination with the victims’ families. UK Tour During April and May 2006, The Dizengoff Quilt travelled to the UK where six appearances - four in London and two in Manchester - were arranged at the following venues: MANCHESTER April 27: Afternoon: Club Thursday Senior Citizens Group, Sha'are Hayim Synagogue Hall, Didsbury. Evening: Synagogue Ladies' Guilds, North Cheshire Wizo, Manchester Zionist Central Council, Yeshurun Synagogue, Gatley. LONDON April 29: Address to Finchley Orthodox Congregation, Finchley, London May 2: Radlett Community, Yom Hazikaron Ceremony May 3: “AISH in the City” (AISH Ha'Torah) lunchtime program, 95 Gresham Street EC2, London May 6: Address to great New North London Synagogue, Sternberg Centre , East End Road, Finchley |
