My Poetry
Flashbacks

Memories fill my disturbed mind,
Leave me sweating as once before.
Something hidden that I must find,
But wait, I must know more.
A blinding light,
A high pitched scream
Of a mortar fills my head.
What I thought was just a dream
Leaves me to this world as...dead.
Flashbacks...these memories I dread!

Just a few of the poems I've written over the last 16 years.
Truth And Lies

I sat alone tonight drowning in my thoughts.
I sat alone wondering if its all just for naught.
Within so many things I've never believed. There is so much which I can not concieve.
Trust, they say, it must be earned.
However, I say, it must be learned.
Truth and lies go hand and hand.
Truth is but minute grains of sand.
Look above, what do you see?
Can you see that which will set you free?
If you cannot then open your eyes,
For its not truth you know, its all just lies. Patience wears on the minds of the weak. While honestys light is what they seek.
Will they find it? We will never know.
It's too well masked by the lies they bestow.
So ask yourself what is the truth?
Is it my days of long forgotten youth?
Or is it just a myth that we chase,
another lap in a never ending race.

Cast Your Eyes

Cast your eyes upon her
With her golden, flowing hair!
Into emerald eyes of green,
Go where most do not dare!
Behold the beauty in radiance
That beams forth from her being.
Stand awestruck in her presence
Not believing what you are seeing.
Her smile lights a darkened room
Like the sun doth light the day.
You seem entranced as she speaks
And hang on all she has to say!
Trust your heart as it speaks
And tells you that she is a friend.
Embrace the knowledge of who she is
May the friendship never end!

Human?

Greed, the fabric of their beings.
Hatred, to the point of seething.
Violence, they look the other way.
It's not me, is all they have to say.
Patience, a virtue dead and gone.
Honesty also went along.
Beliefs, just scattered along the way.
Hopes and dreams shattered do they lay.
Darkness, welcome to the night.
Nothingness, abscence of the light.
Silence, consumes from behind.
A void is left where once there was a mind.

Thank You

When I sit alone at night.
Its then I sit and think.
Of everything that I have done,
Words I did not ever speak.
These words I left unspoken
Those I should have said to you,
The words I am sure you need to hear
Are thank you my dear, thank you!
Thank you for the loving way
Your smile brightens a room.
The way your touch and tender warmth
Bring an end to the darkest gloom.
Thank you for the way you care
Unconditional as it seems.
Thank you for the way you laugh
Almost bursting at the seams.
Thank you for holding me
When I cannot fall asleep.
Thank you just for being you.
Thank you for loving me!

Reality

Have you ever thought
When you can't see;
What is to become
Of you and me?
The mirrors' glass
A blank stare,
No one ever said
That life was fair.
Take what comes
All in Stride.
Hold on tight
It is a bumpy ride.
Take a look
Into yourself.
You will find the source
Of your wealth!

War

Fight inside a world,
visualize the hate.
As napalm rips through sanity,
We fall unto a darkened state.
They threaten us with bloody siege
and tear us from the womb.
They desecrate through inhumanity,
enclose us in the tomb.
Now I lay me down to die,
blackened and so alone.
Till a child shall find my body
and finally bring me home.
