 THINGS NOT TO DO!There are many many many things you do not want to do during a polygraph examination. I am sure you have heard of ways to trick or out smart the polygraph. However, are you aware that if you try any of the following methods, you could be leaving your examination with a failed test. Be very careful of what you do when taking a polygraph test. - NEVER TAKE ANY DRUGS TO HELP YOU PASS
Taking drugs before your test could have negative effects on your final results. Drugs often cause people to come out of their polygraph test with an inconclusive reading.
- DO NOT TRY AND CAUSE PAIN TO YOURSELF TO THROW OF THE TEST
Causing pain at the wrong time during you test will lead to a definint fail. Never try this method.
- NEVER CHANGE YOUR STORY
The examiner will always say that you messed up on a certain question. This is their way of trying to get you to tell them more then what you have already let them know. Don't fall for this trick.
- MAKE SURE TO NOT ARRIVE LATE TO YOUR EXAMINATION
Since it is the examiner that decides weather of not you failed, it would be a good idea not to keep him or her waiting.
- NEVER ASSUME THAT YOU WILL PASS JUST BECAUSE YOU ARE TELLING THE TRUTH
This is the biggest mistake people make. Most people think that just because they tell the truth they will pass. WRONG!!!! Honest people fail the polygraph all the time.
- NEVER GO INTO A POLYGRAPH TEST UNPREPARED
Going into a polygraph test unprepared is like trying to take a calculus test with out knowing how to perform a calculus problem. Taking a polygraph test is just like taking any other test. You must read up on it and study.
