| What's New in the Schleier Home! |
| Seriously, the holiday season is upon us already?!?!? Wow, it arrived in the blink of an eye! I hope you are all enjoying the beautiful Fall weather no matter where you are. It’s finally down to the 90’s here in Arizona.
Dan and I just got back from a 4 night stay in Vegas on the 4th. It was a fabulous trip! Dan had never been there before so this was a whole new world for him. He got to experience the grandness of the hotels, the unusual talents some choose to share on the street, and the amazing amount of walking along the StripJ We took lots of pictures and I should have the photos up soon for your viewing pleasure. We went to the Shark Reef at Mandalay Bay, the Titanic Exhibit at the Tropicana, Madame T.’s wax museum at the Venetian and even The Blue Man Group show just name a few!!!! Yes, I got my picture with one of the Blue MenJ. Our fur children stayed with their Grandma and Grandpa while we were gone. Shanti managed to wear her fur aunt out by playing constantly and Jasmine managed to eat 2 leashes, a couple angel cards, a green sharpie, and the garden hose. Fun had by allJ. Shanti ended up with an emergency vet appointment the day before we left for Vegas. Basically it looked as though she had broken her ankle bone on her hind leg. It was sticking out like a golf ball. She and I were up all Thursday night while she cried and I kept cold compresses on her to try and ease the pain. Jasmine and Dan slept peacefully of course……. After x-rays and all it was determined that she tore a ligament in her leg while playing. She is on anti-inflammatory medication for 14 days and then she has to be rechecked. She takes her horse pills like a champ every morning thoughJ. I am working for a much smaller hospice company now. More pay and less headacheJ. No complaints here. I am however enrolling in Vet Tech school within the next couple days. It will encompass my undying passion and love for animals plus that caregiving side of me. I will be getting my associates degree. Dan is still with USAA. We have decided to move to WI in about 2 years. Basically it’s a great place for raising a family, the pace is slower, housing is more affordable, and we can own more land with more animalsJ. Can’t remember how many people we have told, so now everyone will know. We already have a plan in the works. By then the adoption will be done, my sister will have graduated from high school, I’ll have earned my Vet Tech Degree and off we’ll go. My sister turned 16 on the 5th of October. She got her permit the day before and was very excited. She proudly told me that she “has already driven 2 times safely”. Too funny. Dan and I went over to my parents house for her birthday celebration with enchiladas, sweet 16 decorations, and Claim Jumper desserts galore. We got her a Blue Man Group t-shirt that I actually got signed for her. She was very excited. She is also going to CA to a USC game with my dad. For those who don’t know, we are a big traditional USC family going back generations. That’s about it for now I think…………… The Schleier Family |
