What is Smooth Fox Terrier Rescue?

SFTR is a small group of people that care deeply for the Smooth Fox Terrier . We have a great deal of experience in dogs and especially  with Smooth Fox Terriers.  We are dedicated to the rescue of all unwanted Smooth Fox Terriers in Southern California.   If you are in another part of the US, please go to: www.foxterrierrescue.net

What can we do?

We take Smooth Fox Terriers from all Southern California area  animal shelters, both public and private.  We also take Smooth Fox Terriers when their owners can no longer keep them,  including dogs whose owners have died.  When possible  we contact the breeder of the dog to see if they will  take it back. We then evaluate the dog, see that it is  spayed or neutered, microchipped and has all it's shots up to date.  They are evaluated for physical and mental health  problems and for their suitability as a pet. We then look for the best possible homes we can find for them.  We have no time limits and can keep a Fox Terrier as long as is needed to find that special home.  That way we can take our time to find that special home for each fox terrier.

We currently have six  Smooth Fox Terriers in Rescue.  Five of them are available.  After many years of doing SFT rescue, our facilities are smaller and we have limited space.  Fortunately, we also many fewer SFT's that need re-homing.  Please contact me if you know a Smooth Fox Terrier in need. dobrasft@earthlink.net
