Turkey Carols Rock!
(And they're free too!)

A Turkey Carol is, simply put, a song to celebrate Thanksgiving. Just as a Christmas Carol brings joy and merriment to the Christmas season, so too a Turkey Carol brings joy and merriment to the American holiday of Thanksgiving.

I was introduced to the idea of turkey carols over 20 years ago when I took a sign language class. The instructor believed that one of the best ways to learn ASL was through song so she decided to teach us a holiday song - a Thanksgiving song no less. I still remember the words and, though I have no idea what the title of the song is or who wrote it, I've included it below under the title "Great Big Turkey".

Also below are links to a few Thanksgiving songs written by yours truly and sure to become holiday classics. Because I have absolutely no talent for writing tunes, these songs are written to be sung to the tunes of popular Christmas carols and/or other holiday songs.

I hope you have fun singing these silly songs as well as writing a few of your own.
