I found this page via a friend. My father was born in
Hillsbourough, Texas Nov, 23, 1916. His name was Floyd White Farrar Jr., my
grandfather was senior. Granddad was married to an Oklahoma Indian woman I
think. She and him had a falling out and he hit the road to California in the
early twenties, around 1922 I think. He wound up in Glendale, California where
me and my uncles were raised. Dad said they drove all the way with his little
sister Ruby in the seat next to him. I have no idea what granddad was doing in a
dusty Texas town 50 miles south of Fort Worth in 1916. All are gone now. I took
a trip there in late '93, expecting to find out, but alas, the courthouse and
records had burned down just previous to this. It was a holiday and the
historical society was closed. I have always been curious, so now that I have
gone on-line with my computer maybe I will find out. I have three half uncles
somewhere out there named Bobby or Robert, one named Carl, and the other named
Johnny. I think Robert is in Missouri, Carl in Florida, and uncle John in the
San Berdoo mountains of California. Anything ring a bell to anyone

My husband's gggrandmother was Sarah Elizabeth Farrar who
married William Duncan in Clyde, Edgar Co. IL. I feel certain that she is the
daughter of Green Wesley Farrar. I have Green W. born 1800 NC, m. Laura (Lura)
Sinclair. Green's father was William Franklin Farrar b. 1781, Caswell Co. NC,
m.Elizabeth Brekeen. The 1850 census for Macoupin o. IL shows Green W. Farrar
age 50, (pg. 313, Dwg. No. 4, Family No. 4, with Lusa age 42, George W. 23,
Thomas J. 17, Nancy J. 15, Laura Ann 9, Green W. 7. In Dwg. No. 6, Family #7, I
have William Duncan 28, Sarah E. Duncan, age 22, and D. W. Duncan, age 2. We
know that Sarah's maiden name was Farrar fom a copy of their marriage record. As
you can see, the age of 22 for Sarah fits between George W. and Thomas J.
Farrar, and since she and William Duncan were married in 1847, she would no
longer be in her father's household for the 1850 census. I would greatly
appreciate any help anyone can give me in verifying that Sarah is the daughter
of Green W. and Luisa Farrar. Thanks and God bless you and yours, M. K.

Dear Lavin and Annette: Just stopped by to check out the
site. Boy, has it grown! Didn't know there were that many Farrars out there.
:->) All here are doing better. Ann is progressing very well. We are hoping
her hearing and memory loss will continue to improve. Also, they did an MRI on
Monday to check for damage because she is very weak on the left side. They seem
to be of the opinion he may have either suffered a minor stroke or that there is
some brain damage from the seizures she had when the Meningitis was at its
worst. Keep her in your prayers. Better close. I had a bad night last night -
old right leg. I am going to try to get a good nights sleep tonight. Take care
and keep in touch. Love, Dinah Kay p.s. How is Annette doing? Better, I hope. By
the way did you hear Betty is not doing too well? Repercussions of the stroke
she had last Fall. Marvin has had more heart surgery and seemed to be feeling a
bit better. Keep them in your prayers also.
