In 1942 in Toronto there was a Squadron which would later prove to be an excelling Squadron. This Squadron in Toronto was called 201 Toronto Center "O" Squadron. The Squadron ran for about 40 years. It was dismissed because it did not have many staff in it. Appoximatly 20 years later, Oct 4, 1992, the Air Cadet League in corporation with 513 Donnybrook Legion, formed and commenced 201 Dorchester Squadron offically a Squadron for the Royal Canadian Air Cadets. Dorchester is a small town just east of London. The Squadron started out with a handfull of people, and the Quota of Cadets rised and fell over the years. In 1998, the CO Captain McNeil retired, and at the time, Lt. Castle was put into the CO position. In 1999, Lt.Caslte was promoted to Captain, 201 took the name from the Toronto Squadron, Center "O" and used it for ourselves. Also 201 had the most cadets it ever had. Our Quota was 70 cadets on strength. The year of 2000-2001 for 201 im sure will be an excellent one. Now the year 2000-2001 has ended, and 201 will again be looking forward to the next year. |
