The Scarlet Path is a form of Magic outlined first in the book, THE SCARLET WAND, A GRIMOIRE FOR THE GAY MALE, by Raji Dorotez, first published in 1993 by The Omnitheistic Church Press, P.O. Box 4322, Berkeley, Ca. 94704.
The Scarlet Path is a magical discipline in which erotic energy is fused with the spirit and used to change the world about you in conformance with your Will. In short, you learn how to tap sexual energy as it wells up and utilize it ways other than the sex-act. This is a form of Sex Magic, but the master learns when to cum and when to hold off, when to make love and when to fantasize, when to be quick and when to prolong it. Sex is power. Sex is strength. But the strong Magician controls Sex and learns how to focus the energy that it creates, not be controlled by it. To quote the book:
"By Sex Magic, I don't mean a form of Magic which finds its outlet only the act of sex and its climax, orgasm. No, Sex is more than Cumming. Sex is a state-of-mind. It is the way you dress, what you eat, how you wear your hair, the way you smile or frown or laugh; it's what perfumes you don, what shampoo you use, and much, much more. It's your state of health and how you move from point 'A' to point 'B'. It's sometimes even 'not cumming'."
In short, it's a method of living your life from breath-to-breath, day-to-day, year-to-year erotically, bringing to the foremost in your mind sexual energy, whether or not you express it in the act of sex.
This discipline is specifically for males who relate most to other males, who receive their power and renew their energies from other males. Although on the surface this appears homosexual, the mere word "homosexual" is a modern invention; this discipline is ancient. In the past, most men got married and sired offspring, this was expected of them, but what they did for pleasure was their own business -- same-sex activity was common among all pre-Christian cultures, prevalent in some. We, who adhere to the Scarlet Path, recognize this basic instinct in the species for the males to seek to reproduce themselves with females, but seek comfort, companionship, love, and comradeship in other males. Although some may call this bisexuality, we do not use the term. All males, all humans are sexual. Period. Sex is good. No matter what gender you indulge in. No matter where you put your cock -- in a vagina, a mouth, a butt-hole. Sex is good. It is working up erotic energy that may be used to accomplish miracles the uninitiated never dreamed of. As one of my very dear friends, a rough-tough biker whom no one would ever suspect of homosexual activity, once said, when asked whether he was Gay, Straight, Bi, or what: "I'm a Man. I do what a Man does. If I got horny, I'd hold down a rattlesnake and fuck it." This is the natural way for Man to be, the way Man was in all cultures before the advent of Christianity and its unholy brothers, Islam and Judaism (the least offensive of the three, and the only one of the three that qualifies as an aboriginal faith). It is natural for Males to indulge in sex with other Males. But each Man, regardless of what he fucks or how often he fucks it, does have his preferences, and these are what define him magically. To quote the book:
"Your sexual actions don't define you -- you are defined by your sexual desires, hidden or overt. You are defined by what you need, not by what you do. . . it isn't what you do that defines you, not what you look like, nor whether you're swishy or butch -- it's what you want to do."
At the core of this discipline are these truths:
1. Sex is good. It is the most basic need we have, after eating, drinking, and the will to live.
2. Sex between male and female is of the flesh, of the Earth, and regardless of what anyone claims, is primarily for the purpose of procreation -- but with all life, in order to create new life, you must be willing to step aside and sacrifice your own. In other words. . . die. And bear in mind also that in this present age, as over-populated as we are on this planet, it isn't necessary to create that many new lifes.
In the past, many Earth-Mother religions had a dying god who fertilized the Great Goddess before he was sacrificed and his blood spread on the fields. In the present, many Goddess-dominant groups are hostile to a discipline like ours that steps aside from the Goddess and doesn't incorporate Her into our mythos. Not that we deny Her, it's just that we have no use for Her. Just like we have little use for breeding more bodies to crawl over this planet.
3. Sex between same-sex individuals is of the spirit. In secret occult traditions of the past, the highest level was often one in which homosex occured, for example, Aleister Crowley's Eleventh Degree. (eleven has always been a sacred number for faggots.) The Greeks considered the love of one man for another the highest of the loves. In its purest form, it is a means to reach upward toward the Immortal and the Divine, it is Holy and Magical and a means to understanding the Universe and Oneself.
4. The body is holy and should be treated as the temple that it is. It is good to be nude. It is good to bask in the Sun. It is good to feast your eyes on beauty. Good to indulge your fantasies and desires, but not to the point of overindulgence.
5. The Hair of a male is a mane of protection and acts like antannae in transmitting psychic energy to and from. It should be treated like the crown that it is and should be worn as long and luxurious as possible.
6. The Cock is the primary source of Male power and strength. It should be reverred as holy. It is wrong and harmful to inflict trauma or scar or mutilate it in any way. This specifically includes circumcision, which is an unnecessary, harmful act which traumatizes infants and can affect their emotions in later life. 7. Everything that issues from the Cock is pure and holy and can be used in Magic. Urine can be used in possession Magic, establishing dominance and possession of an object similar to an animal marking it's territory with spurts of it's urine. Semen issues from the Soul of a Man and contains his essence and power and strength, everything that he is. With the proper rituals, that Semen can be transformed into Divine Semen, Semen of the God, Ambrosia that can fill us and make us whole. In other words. . . COMMUNION.

9. It is good to keep oneself in a constant state of erotic arousal (not necessarily meaning sex or orgasm). It keeps your power well toned and ready to use. One method of doing this is through the use of holy images, i.e. erotic photographs or illustrations. Viewing them, or watching erotic movies (call it porno, if you will, it's only that if you see it as such), and letting them stimulate you to the point of arousal (but not necessarily orgasm) will keep your energies flowing and help keep you magically fit and hale.
