The Collection is stored in two locations in the town. The artefacts are held in the Museum on Ocean Road (tel: +44 (0)191 456 8740) and the literature is kept in the Local Studies Section of the Central Library in Prince Georg Square  (tel: +44(0) 191 424 7860). Many of the items in the Collection have been donated to the town by James Kirkup during his professional life. More recently, his friend Akiko Takemoto has sent items from Kirkup’s life in Japan.
